Step 1: Find the image you want

Step 2: Convert the .png or .jpg image into .vtf format using vtfedit, which can be downloaded here

Open up vtfedit, then click on "open" in the top left corner which is represented by the page icon, then select your .png or .jpg file



After selecting your image, a settings window should pop up. Don't worry about any of the advanced settings, just make sure that your settings look like this:




After clicking OK, make sure that these two boxes are checked:
(It doesn't matter if any of the other boxes are checked by default or not, just make sure that the two boxes in this screenshot are checked)




Next, you need to save this .vtf file to your computer, make sure that when you save it, you name it "background01" without the quotation marks.



After you've saved it, you need to save another copy of the same .vtf, and this time you need to name it "background01_widescreen" without the quotation marks.





Step 3: Now you need to go to steamapps\common\nmrih\nmrih\custom and create a folder called "my_custom_stuff" without the quotation marks, within that folder, you need to create a folder called "materials" with no quotation marks, within that folder, you need to create a folder called "console" with no quotation marks. Then, you need to place the two .vtf files that you created into the console folder. The path should look like this:

steamapps\common\nmrih\nmrih\custom\my_custom_stuff\materials\console
