Avali Material Strength Patch

I don't know if the lore actually specifies a caliber, IIRC it just claims to stop "bullets". However, graphene (which Nanocanvas is supposedly made from) is exceptionally strong, and apparently better at stopping a bullet than steel or kevlar IRL.

Starbound doesn't have a fancy enough ballistics model to make a distinction between a 5.56 or a .50, all it knows is "this bullet does X damage" - velocity, mass, and materials don't matter. All this mod can do is give Avali blocks more HP to make them harder to break. The blocks are given about as much HP as strong default blocks, for sake of balance.

bullets as in 556 or 762??? is it like kevlar or spider silk or higher?

theoretically it material must have the hardness of diamond without the shattering part.

fun fact, diamond is one of the hardest minerals known to man, but it can shatter easily.

Graphene is made of carbon (one of the most abundant elements in the universe), which has many forms - diamond, graphite, buckyballs, lonsdaleite, hydrocarbons, carbon dioxide, limestone, dolomite, etc..

shit man we have nano-material that is harder than diamonds, so i guess saying that "we could make armor that could strong enuf to stop bullet" could be realish, by ish i mean it would be the far future and we would mostlikely make weapon by then that could pearce it by then, you know gota make sure we can kill each other. also i tought a bit into "avali lore" as it seem this starbound mod has some story to it.

If it helps your immersion at all, Avali lore says that even humble nanocanvas is woven from sheets of pure graphene, which IRL is incredibly strong even in small amounts. The recipe in-game is made with coal (ie., carbon), supporting that claim.

im not super hard sci-fi, i do still like fictional elements, but i kinda like sci-fi universes that have some real science and some entirely fictional science, but i like my fictional science to have some "logic" behind it. also CODE looks like a cool game
