IT always irked me how the Hoplites were basically this force that was just there... not very useful at all except for just holding the line which made Greek factions pretty pathetic.

This mod fixes Their MAIN ISSUE. The Phalanx. i added another ability to all Hoplites giving them A more flexible phalanx with sick animations and buffed stats. making it VERY dangerous to take them head on As it should be. not impossible however.

this mod is thanks to avemetal and his para bellum mod. which already has this function go and check out his overhaul mod when you get the chance. Enjoy!

and a private mod of mine which changes the Cavalry making them a little more dangerous and up the infantry unit sizes to 500 and ranged and cavalry to 300 which is the main unit size i play with.

@SenC that's because the author utilised the Pikeman phalanx formation ability to create this mod.

uhhhh....the hoplites with Phanlax formation keep making sounds like 'huh, huh, huh'.......it's..you know, strange, and annoying. :steamsad:

Does the longer spear length also buffs lance carveries?

I was ambushed by the romans with 1000 men to their 2.5-3k. I lost 400 and they were wiped out. Safe to say, dont use this mod if you want a challenge.

@jojohnbbest Sorry for the late reply......ah yes those I mentioned earlier have the ability, but I notice the Noble Spearmen (Armenia), Bactrian Royal Guard (Baktria) and Colchian Nobles (Colchis) don't have your MOD activaded. I also want to thank you for bring this for the community, because CA don't bring to us a simple Phalanx but instead a Greek Shield Wall.

@jojohnbbest Can u nerf it a bit more? Like im still able to kill in a 1v1 without using any special abilities. Even formation attack on with spartan hoplites I win relatively easy vs preatorian guard or oathsworn.

Glad you like it friend. hey word of advice, try not to attack a wall of spears from the front and hope to win. you wont be winning battles that way.
