Adds additional floating boss information into the UI and changes the names of floating bosses so that they are more identifiable and it's easier to tell what they do.

“Why did you make this mod?”

First, let me ask you the following. How many times have you fought Archus, and then sometime after the run started you asked yourself: "Wait, what does he do again?" You get so much useful information on the bosses when you first start a run, and then later on in the run all you get in core Monster Train UI is Seraph's name, icon, and description. Furthermore, the descriptions for the boss encounters are in many cases identical across variants and/or completely non-descript. I wanted to improve all of this.

“What all does this mod do?"

This mod does two things:
- Adds complete floating boss tooltips to the top UI bar for all 3 floating bosses that you'll encounter on a run. This includes what their passive effects are, the status effects they employ, the units they summon, and the keywords that they interact with. While the UI elements for Talos/Daedalus/Archus/Fel are brand new, I also took the liberty to update Seraph's UI element to improve that as well.
- Renames all floating boss encounters to be unique for their effects and have descriptions telling you what critical special unit you'll be facing. This includes Shadewings for Seraph the Temperant, Masters of Light for Rage Fel, and so on. All rewritten text is carefully checked to not change or imply any lore beyond what is already provided in-game and is designed to match existing standards that Shiny Shoe has written in (ie. All Seraph combats start with 'The end is near').

BepInEx, the framework that modding for Monster Train uses and which this mod depends upon, requires some extra steps to work on Proton/Wine: https://docs.bepinex.dev/articles/advanced/proton_wine.html

Doesn't seem to work for me either. I have trainworks installed. I wonder if me running game through Proton is the problem :voice:

It is still working for me! You also need to install Trainworks, the framework, for it to function.
