Also ai_check_interval is a monthly check, so at 120 it's only checking the decision once every 10 years. Something like 6 or 12 months might be more appropriate.

The mod does get the AI to check the decision and to take it if eligible, which vanilla oddly bars the AI from, seemingly only allowing the AI to hire doctors during health event chains, but to me the requirement for 100 gold is too high and should be removed so that the AI can progress to the find physician event and get a low skill doctor for free if they lack the 30 gold (minor_gold_value).

I can publish a mod doing the above on the weekend, but if you like the idea and are still active I'd be happy for an update that hashes out the gold check for the AI in the decision.

The problem in the mod I see is that the AI needs 100 gold to perform the decision (gold >= medium_gold_value, which is 100). But if you look at the vanilla event health.3001 in health_events.txt that the hire physician decision triggers, the AI can actually hire a low skill doctor for free if they don't even have 30 gold to pay them.

The payment to the doctor is subject to a limit that the AI's short_term_gold >= low_skill_court_physician_cost (which is the minor_gold_value of 30), and if the AI doesn't have the 30 gold the payment is skipped and the doctor is hired for free. There is a developer comment that "#Because AI would never have enough money and everyone would die" that accords with what everyone here is commenting.

I'm fairly certain it's not working anymore since AI almost never hires a physician. It probably needs an update.

I also would like to know if it's still needed ? I sometimes play bookmarks/dates with with high diseases probability (black plague). Would I kill the AI doing so ?

Is this still needed or requires and update? I'm not sure if AI is using it.

because paradox now make them less likely recruit courtiers thats apply to physician as well, it is not a bug it is how stupid paradox make AI.
