You have spotted Hat Kid with a gun. Firstly, remain calm. Seeing Hat Kid with a gun is a very scary and traumatizing experience for most, but, Hat Kid won't attack nor fight back, she will analyze you, seeing if you are a potential threat. Now, you walk up to Hat Kid and say hello. Hat Kid will continue looking at you.

With this next bit you must do everything with precision. Your objective is to disarm Hat Kid. Ask Hat Kid what she has in her hand, and in most occasions she will reply saying "It's nothing to worry about." When she does this she will take out her gun, and the moment she does you must snatch it out her hands and sprint off. Failure to take the gun will result in death by Hat Kid.

With you taking away her gun, Hat Kid will be mad and will chase after you. If at any point Hat Kid gets her gun back, Hat Kid will shoot, and you will be dead. You must run away FAST, and Hat Kid MUST lose you. After around 5 minutes of Hat Kid being lost, Hat Kid will retreat and give up on the gun. Please note that Hat Kid remembers your face. If at any point Hat Kid retrieves the gun, she will track you down.

After you escape Hat Kid and steal the gun, destroy it. If you lose it, Hat Kid could get it back, and therefore Hat Kid will chase after you. Destroy it by any means, it doesn't matter how, but destroy it quickly and wholly. If Hat Kid ever has a gun for too long, if Hat Kid ever finds out the power of a gun, it is certain that chaos will insue, so disarming Hat Kid must be done.
