The only problem is that he uses auto unwrapping in 3DSMax which definitely is not the best technique, since can be used only with small assets..
In any case you can't create any asset using only SketchUp, because you need to use a further software for UV mapping (such as 3DSMax, Blender, Maya...)

Answer: No, you should have no issues with that. Just make sure you let Steam run for a bit before you start the game so it can download and install the mods/assets. Technically, it IS possible to install assets/mods while the game is running, but they won't appear in your content manager until the next time you exit to main menu and/or desktop.
