Canon Collections
All collections considered canon by Pinha, the creator of Starpoint, are considered canon by me.
Phase One of the Metal Army
Part one: The inhabitants of planet 7135 were a happy species, living their lives as normal for the most part, but their natural predators had become stronger and adapted more to the conditions of the environment, outmatching the intelligent inhabitants. One day, an explorer from a different planet came to study planet 7135, but the inhabitants of the planet saw him as a threat, and killed him with their primitive weapons. After many years of living in his starship, the inhabitants of the planet eventually figured out how to work the craft. They began exploring space, but a piece of debris threw them off whatever random course they had accidentally set and caused them to barrel towards another planet.

Part two: The ship had crash-landed at a very cold planet. Few members of their species had survived. There were barely any trees on this planet, something that the inhabitants of planet 7135 weren't used to, but there was an abundance of metal. Metal was a very valuable resource where they had previously lived, but here, it was the most abundant resource available. The survivors of the crash, who now called themselves the "Metorans" started digging and mining, day in, and day out. After months of hunting and mining and famine, the Metorans had finally had enough resources to armor and clothe the inhabitants.

Part three: The Metorans had large towns, and a very forward thinking society. They began to find resources to act as wires. They began creating medicine, technology, and food industries. Everything was going well, and they had thrived more than ever.

But not for long.
Phase Two of the Metal Army
Part one: The inhabitants of the now extinct Kovika' planet had found out about the Metorans many milleniums after they had first arrived on the icy planet, and their large amount of resources. They began sending ships, mechs, and soldiers to purge the Metorans. The Metorans only had blades and light armor, and they would certainly perish, the Kovika's people thought.

Part two: The Metoran's astronomers and scientists had reported odd spacecrafts orbiting the planet. They knew what was coming. Their soldiers, who called themselves "the Metal Army" stocked up on supplies, citizens hid in their homes, and the war began. The Kovika people's' weapons were more powerful than the Metal Army's, but that didn't stop them from trying to win. Many citizens and soldiers perished, but in a burst of hope and anger, the Metal Army had pushed the enemy forces back, and the Kovikians retreated.

Part three: The Metal Army began studying the Kovikian weapons, and were able to build their own. They were able to scavenge enough parts from the weapons to create a sufficient mining machine. This allowed them to create better weapons, homes, technology, and armor.

Phase Three of the Metal Army
Part one: After the battle, the number of inhabitants on the Metal Army's planet largely decreased. The amounts of food and water and resources used up per day were very large, and the inhabitants did not have much to live on. The soldiers who did return from the battle, however, hunted in the surrounding area and built better homes for their families. The engineers and scientists of the planet had successfully created a distress beacon that reached the neighboring planets. The inhabitants of the neighboring planets began trading with the Metal Army, which allowed the Metal Army to further create new technology and utilize more resources.

Part two: The inhabitants of the neighboring planets started to enlist in the Metal Army. They had previously been in ordeals with the Kovikians, and after hearing that the Metal Army was also an enemy of the Kovikians, they joined the cause and assisted the Metal Army with building, developing strategies against the Kovikians, and further advancing their technology. After all of the recent developments and soldiers, they went under the name of The Legion of Steel.

Part three: The Legion of Steel had used their new technology to investigate the Kovikians' planet, and they decided now was the perfect time to attack. They sent ships to purge the smaller bases of the Kovikians, and succeeded. The higher ranks of the Kovikians quickly gained knowledge of the recent attacks, and sent many squads of soldiers to deal with the Legion of Steel. The Legion of Steel quickly retaliated, with several more attacks on the Kovikians' bases. Later, the Legion of Steel leader attempted to send a squad to assassinate the higher military ranks of the Kovikians, and failed. The two sides sent battalions of soldiers to the enemies' planet, and were locked in a tug of war for long after, though the Legion ended up gaining the upper hand and causing the Kovikians to go extinct.
The Metal Strain of The Hive
The Hive creatures are a hostile race in Starpoint lore found on the Cutternian's planet. However, there is also a specific strain of the hive only found on The Legion's planet. The strain was the remnant of a flying hive creature making its way to the Legion's planet that eventually adapted to the cold conditions, gained new abilities, and reproduced to create the Metal Strain.

This strain of The Hive is smaller, and can disguise itself as nearby resources, but prefers disguising itself as valuable minerals found in the caves of The Legion's planet. Once near a potential host, the organism latches itself onto the host, fusing the host's armor to the host's body. It then forms under the host's armor and acts as protection to the host's unarmored body parts. The organism also forms weapons from the host's armor, making either sharp or blunt weapons. Once this process is complete, the host's mind and thought process becomes the same as the organism's, meaning the host is now completely under the control of the organism.

Next, the organism attempts to fulfill it's main purpose; to infect more hosts. It does this by attacking another living being, and detaching a small part of itself to spread across the other living being. This living being will undergo the same process that the host who infected it did.

Infected beings are usually very durable after the process, but are vulnerable to head-shots, fire, plasma, and electricity.

Phase Four of the Legion of Steel
The Legion of Steel undergoes many changes critical to the future of its people.

Part one: The Legion allies with the Cutternian Stratocracy after many years of knowing of each other's presence. They become trading partners, and this does good for both civilizations.

Part two: The Legion creates military branches, specializing in defeating specific enemy types or enduring specific types of weather (units eventually). Their armor takes a more dark look, with prominent spikes and a darker color-scheme to match. They also begin expanding their technology.

Part three: The Legion attempts expansion to uninhabited planets. This, for the most part, fails due to their lack of space technology. Bonds with the Cutternians become stronger, and other rising factions begin to become of interest to the Legion.
Phase Five of the Legion of Steel
Part one: The Legion's scouts discover advanced civilizations and technologies on other planets, some being more savage than others. This peaks their interest, as they ponder what is beyond the horizon.

Part two: The Legion begins plotting contact with other civilizations. This is interrupted by a scientific breakthrough: mechanical augmentation. The Legion begins experimenting with these augmentations, creating the Exoknight commanders. They find them to be useful, and continue experimentation.

Part three: The Legion creates its magnum opus. The most powerful soldier it has seen yet, "Project 236", or, more commonly, the cyborg, is created. It features an array of weapons, as well as a more stable jetpack bolted into its body. For the most part, its free will has been erased, and one objective has been created for it: serve the Legion of Steel, at whatever cost. The Legion of Steel does not plan to release this monster until it is absolutely necessary: but one thing is for sure, more will come soon.

yeah, i've been doing a lot more real life things (fencing, SCA, etc) and i'm not really into the sci-fi scene anymore. plus, PPG got stale for me real quick (well, a few hundred hours' quick) and it just doesnt have the same feeling it used to. you can continue the concept of the Legion of Steel if you want, i just ask that you do it justice

Love to hear it Sam, I am an avid player of B&S and would love to see whatever mods you come up with. I am excited to see what you can do with a new engine and style. I am happy to see that you are expanding into modding other games. Love to hear it.

im glad i got someone into making things on PPG! that made my day. as for me working again, most of my efforts have been towards modding Blade and Sorcery. i'll likely not return to PPG, as the resources are quite limited (and, in the past couple years, i've shifted from enjoying sci-fi like the Legion of Steel to more medieval fantasy). i'm currently working on another big lore-heavy project for B&S, so i'm staying close to my roots!

Pinha has moved on from PPG as for the past year or so he has been playing other games. I haven't messaged him in a while but I don't think he has as much interest in the game anymore and has moved on to bigger things. Although I could be wrong, I would respect any decision he makes for the future of his work on this game as he owes nothing to the community and has gone his path. Anyway, it's good to see you working again Sam I remember your work inspired me back in the day to create my stuff. :ppg_human:

starpoint and its associated universes were moved from people playground to a wiki and a discord server (which, no, i am no longer in touch with aside from the creator, Pinha) and the remaining are now really just story concepts with 3d art and digital artwork associated
