PLX-5S Phalanx [MOD]

The PLX-5S Phalanx is a significant upgrade to the aging original Phalanx design. At a respectable 60+ tons, it is a durable mech that can survive heavy fire. The PLX-5S also has a multitude of hardpoints for optimal combat efficiency at various ranges. To offset its relatively slow movement speed, this model mounts two heavy jumpjets. Despite the tactical advantages of this updated model, the PLX-5S tends to be costly to field due to its outmoded structural components and complex internal systems network. Heat management difficulties are likely to complicate extended engagements due to its sparing use of heat sinks.
