Each car has been tested IN STOCK FORM with a Logitech DriveFX Racing Wheel, on the track "Fuji Speedway" set to Spring, Morning, Clear weather. I chose this track because its quick, has both fast and slow turns and both uphill and downhill sections.

Each car is entitled to 2 or more laps (1st to warm up, the 2nd and upwards for the testing itself).

Each car description includes price, lap time and top speed achieved on the chosen track, pros and cons.

I chose to test all the cars in stock form because it is a fair comparision, since each one of them has a different tuning/upgrade potential (and because some of them, if capped at a certain class level, are simply too OP) plus, you'll have the benefit on knowing the shortcomings of the car you want to own so you can choose which upgrades to install.

Remember that the opinions on the cars are based on MY experience with Project Cars 3, racing games in general and my own knowledge of cars, nevertheless i'll try to keep any form of preference or bias out of the guide.

PS: Since each championship has some races that needs specific cars to be completed with, i'll aim to describe cars in general and not for every single race of every single championship

Notes:

PiR = Performance Rating (the higher it is, more competitive the car will be)

P/W ratio = Power to weight ratio (higher = better)

Cr = credits ( the in-game currency)

Upgrading a car = buying and installing upgrade parts in the garage

Tuning a car = tweaking brakes, suspension and the likes before starting a race

Understeer/oversteer = When the car steers not enough/too much (respectively) to complete a turn safely

The starter class! Here we'll find both old and new affordable sportscars and some new Hot Hatches.
Easy to drive and cheap to buy, they'll probably stay in your garage long after you completed the E Class championship. Most of them have very good braking and low weight, but you may need to spend credits to make a few of them really competitive against the top of the Class. Mind, that some of them can be upgraded to race in the hypercar class!

1 - Ford Escort RS1600

Pros:
- easy to drive and very agile
- very low weight
- lowest PiR ingame (allows extreme flexibility in upgrades)
Cons:
- low power output (goin uphill may slow you down) and low top speed
- lowest PiR ingame (needs upgrades VERY badly)
- extremely low weight might be a problem if you get rammed

2 - BMW 2002 Turbo

Pros:
- very stable with snappy handling and a quick launch from standing still
- oddly low turbo lag and great acceleration
- low PiR (lots of room for upgrades)
Cons:
- tends to slide in both high speed and low speed turns
- a bit unstable while braking
- slow acceleration after low speed turns

3 - Toyota GT86

- great handling and grip, very good to learn the ropes of the game
- good stock power output
- can be competitive in higher classes
Cons:
- sluggish 6th gear (struggles to reach the top speed)
- the very high agility may lead to overconfidence
- understeers at high speed

4 - Ford Mustang 2+2 Fastback

- solid handling due to good weight transfer properties
- great acceleration and top speed
- good power figures

- often tends to lose grip
- body roll all over the place (needs Suspension upgrades)

5 - Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 6 Tommy Makinen Edt.

- great all around handling (thanks to the awd)
- good stock power output
- solid acceleration
- if upgraded enough, can be very competitive in the D class

- very stable and rarely loses grip

- subpar braking and sometimes will understeer disastrously
- heaviest car in class
- very slow shifting times

- excellent acceleration and top speed
- responsive and snappy handling
- doesnt need much tuning to achieve good lap times
Cons:
- braking, while good, makes the car very unstable
- understeers most of the time due to being FWD
- already high PiR leads to fewer upgrade options

8 - Audi TTS Coupé

- good stability and grip
- solid acceleration and top speed
- basically a cheaper and slightly less powerful Skyline

- high PiR doesnt allow many upgrades

- very stable, with lots of grip and, odd for a FWD car, barely any understeer
- very agile and dynamic
- great acceleration, launch and top speed
- can be considered the best FWD in class
Cons:
- expensive, hard to obtain early
- can be unstable if braking hard
- very high stock PiR, less versatile with upgrades

10 - Mercedes-AMG A45 4Matic
Price = 34250 Cr

Pros:
- very powerful, with great acceleration and top speed
- stable and has almost no understeer (unusual for an AWD vehicle)
- almost maximum PiR, doesnt need upgrades to be a winner
Cons:
- the most expensive in class
- very heavy for a hot hatch
- the high PiR barely allows upgrades if you want to install them
- the last two gears (6th and 7th gear) are very slow, will likely struggle to reach her top speed

D class here we come! In this class, we'll finally start to see some high performance sportscars, while still being able to not break the bank. Most of them are RWD and not so light, but they compensate with loads of horsepower under the hood.

1 - Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX FQ360

Pros:
- very cheap compared to what she offers
- basically the EVO 6 on steroids
- even tho she's AWD, she remains very, very agile
- lowest PiR in class makes her the most versatile
Cons:
- the rear end often becomes unstable with hard braking
- needs both tuning and upgrades to reach her full potential
- less powerful than the other cars
- struggles to reach the top speed

2 - Ford Mustang GT
Price = 43000 Cr

Top speed at the end of the straight = 250 KM/H
Pros:
- very powerful with strong acceleration
- stable on the straights
- cheap to buy
Cons:
- extremely heavy, understeers like crazy at higher speeds
- disastrous body roll (suspension upgrades highly advised)
- tends to slide during turn exits, the weight can make her switch from understeer to oversteer in a blink
- 6th gear is painfully slow
- without any upgrades its barely able to race
- generally avoidable (MY OPINION)

3 - Mercedes-AMG C63 Coupè S

- very fast, great acceleration and a lot of horsepower under the hood
- surprisingly agile for an almost 2 tons car, especially in slow turns
- good braking for such a heavy car
- kinda cheap to obtain, doesnt need much grind
Cons:
- understeers at high speeds, the low speed agility is compensated by a subpar high speed agility
- bad standing still llaunch, needs throttle control
- often slides out of corners, be advised

4 - Apline A110S
Price = 46650 Cr

Pros:
- extremely light
- stable, agile and with a very snappy handling
- strong launch and acceleration
- all in all cheap for what she offers
Cons:
- high agility and snappy handling = double-edged blade; can switch from "turning perfectly" to "oversteers like crazy" in no time
- brakes, while good, tend to be too powerful for a car this light. exercise caution
- high PiR for the price
- least powerful car in the class

5 - Toyota GR Supra

- solid horsepower and acceleration
- good agility with barely any understeer
- somewhat lighter than most cars in the class
Cons:
- definitely not cheap
- can be unstable while exiting corners
- brakes lock up a bit quickly

6 - Porsche 959 S

- good agility, good braking and doesnt understeer much
- powerful with great top speed and acceleration
- low turbo lag even if it is an 80s car
Cons:
- very soft suspension with bad body roll. needs suspension upgrades ASAP
- not cheap at all
- tends to powerslide in fast turns

7 - Aston Martin DB11

- the most powerful in class, very good acceleration and top speed
- dynamic in slow turns with very little body roll
-stock suspension is great, brakes are very good too
Cons:
- doesnt handle fast turns that well
- 1st and 2nd gear are very quick and short. Often slides out of tight corners
- understeers often due to her very high weight

8 - Ferrari 288 GTO

- good P/W ratio allows the car to be very dynamic
- great braking, brake themselves dont lock up often
- superb acceleration; better than average grip (all in all)
Cons:
- very expensive
- very high PiR doenst allow many upgrades
- very slow shifting times (gearbox upgrades highly advised)
- disastrous turbo lag, when it kicks in it can prove difficult to handle for new drivers

9 - Jaguar F-Type SVR Coupè

- excellent power figures, brilliant top speed and acceleration
- highest PiR in class, doesnt need upgrades to stay competitive
- has a supercharger instead of a turbocharger = will behave like a naturally aspirated car
- remains agile even if both heavy and AWD
- rarely loses grip
Cons:
- the most expensive car in class, requires grind to obtain
- not so dynamic in slow turns
- not so stable while braking hard
- even if AWD, it will lose grip during launch due to the very high power output. Throttle control is highly advised

Finally here comes the C class! The first class to finally feature purpose built track toys and baby supercars. All that, at a modest price point!

1 - Aston Martin Vantage AMR

- powerful, good acceleration
- great grip in most situations
- among the cheapest in class
- stabe and agile in slow/tight turns
Cons:
- extremely slow shift time (might be a bug, will test again if necessary)
- braking is somewhat subpar, not always stable while braking
- heavy enough to make her understeer in fast turns

2 - Dodge Challenger Hellcat Redeye

Pros:
- enough power to embarass some hypercars, great acceleration and top speed. The great acceleration keeps rollin even in higher gears (6th gear and upwards)
- suprisingly agile and quite good braking
- somewhat cheap
Cons:
- a lot of bodyroll and not so stable
- the extreme power output makes the car go sideways basically in every corner exit. Feather the throttle to be safe.
- horribly awful launch. the first 3 gears are almost inoperable due to the gargantuan amount of torque and due to them being very short

3 - Chevrolet Corvette Stingray (2020)

- good power, has solid acceleration and top speed
- good agility, very dynamic
- great braking, rarely loses grip
- probably one of the most balanced cars
Cons:
- not exactly cheap
- the high weight can be problematic in slow corners
- requires precision driving to uncover all her potential

- has good agility and grip
- the balanced P/W ratio allows a somewhat good recovery even in 4th gear

Cons:
- the handling is definitely not for unexperienced drivers, since it can lead to overconfidence in the car
- the top speed is not that great
- if the upgrades focus too much on power and speed, the perfectly balanced handling becomes a mess

- all-around exceptional handling, no real weakness
- great power figures, excellent acceleration and solid top speed
- launches really quick and never loses traction (unless you REALLY want to)

- basically breaks the laws of physics, no car this heavy can handle THIS good
Cons:
- track proficiency comes at a cost, and this time it's not cheap
- the high PiR will restrict upgrade flexibility
- slightly understeers in fast turns, but nothing that a good tuning can't fix

- very dynamic and agile in all kinds of turns, snaps from one corner to the other very quickly
- the PiR is extremely high compared to the price. Also, it's very affordable
- is capable of outbraking most cars in class
- quick shift times for a manual gearbox
Cons:
- one word: unstable. An experienced driver can use it at his advantage, but less experienced drivers might panic
- often slides out of corners, be cautious
- abysmal top speed, can barely keep up in long straights

- not cheap at all, requires a bit of grind to obtain
- subpar shift times even for a sequential gearbox

- somewhat dynamic if you can follow the racing line

- not so stable, tends to slide both in and out of corners
- the brakes, while they don't lock up easily, are pretty bad. You may need to start braking earlier
- sluggish in slow corners, bad overall cornering.
- the very high PiR doesnt allow much upgrades
- for what she offers and at the price she's placed, i'd generally advise to avoid it.

- excellent grip almost all the time. will lose traction only if you slam the handbrake
- even if heavy, it's very agile at stock

- a bit under-average braking (even Brake upgrade LV1 can fix this)
- very pricey
- the 8th and 9th gears are basically useless, since in most tracks it will top out with the 7th
- the very high PiR leaves barely any roof for upgrades

- has some serious bodyroll, but it's not as bad as other cars
- the most expensive in class. Definitely requires grind to obtain her
- never shift below the 2nd gear in any situation, as it becomes too unstable
- the launch while not the worst, still is subpar

- slowest car in class, cant even reach 240 KM/H on a long straight such as Fuji's
- brakes tend to make the rear end a bit unstable during corner entry
- highest PiR in class at stock means almost no upgrade to make her competitive enough
- insanely high price for a car this underwhelming
- no real upgrade over the Caterham

Road B class! Only two words come up when talking about this class: Affordable Performance. The first class to feature full-out supercars, both old and new ones. Let's dig in shall we?

- cheapest in class (the only car under 100000 cr), offers A LOT for the price
- great P/W ratio allows a brilliantly balanced handling and a spectacular recovery in slow turns, no major weakness
- powerful, launches very quickly for a RWD car, blistering acceleration and incredible top speed
Cons:
- requires precision driving to get the most out of her
- the braking, while good, often renders the car unstable
- will understeer without proper weight transfer during the race

3 - Ferrari F40

- amazing P/W ratio gives the car responsiveness and acceleration like few others
- the balanced handling, with lots of grip, forgives many mistakes the driver can make
- while being pricey, it counterbalances by having a very low PiR, allowing many upgrades

- only 5 gears (limited potential top speed)
- body roll always there to annoy you and make your car often handle unpredictably
- understeers during acceleration
- turbo lag, while not as bad as the 288 GTO, is still a problem

5 - Porsche 911 GT3 RS

- Basically the offspring of the Lotus Exige 430 and the Nismo R35 If you're a petrolhead like me, you already know what this car is capable of.
- brutally good all-around performance. Has no major weakness of any sort
- obliterates everything else in class in terms of cornering and agility
- only another car can handle this good and be faster at the same time (explained later)
Cons:
- a tad unstable while braking for a prolonged period of time
- you need to "git gud" to unleash the full potential of the car
- somewhat subpar top speed (upgrades can fix that)

6 - Lamborghini Huracan

Pros:
- great power, acceleration and top speed. The gearing is very good at stock
- very agile, the steering is very responsive. Good grip in most situations
- brutally fast launch, will most likely smoke everyone else at the start

- the brakes somewhat lack the "bite" they need (upgrades can fix this)
- wants to slide after slow corners, dont let her
- sometimes tends to be unpredictable during corners
- very expensive

7 - Porsche Carrera GT

- still very competitive if upgraded for A Class
Cons:
- most expensive in class, needs a bit of grind
- launch is subpar, manage your throttle!
- has the tendency to slide a bit in 2nd gear turns (a bit of countersteer and you're good)
- if while racing online you find one, better hope the owner is a bad driver, otherwise it's pretty much a lost cause to try and overtake this monster of a car

8 - Ferrari 458 Speciale A

- the braking distance is quite long, even if the brakes themselves are great
- quite expensive
- very high PiR allows fewer upgrades
- requires precision driving unless you want to go sideways off-track

9 - Lamborghini Aventador

- extremely powerful, brutal launch and acceleration and brilliant top speed. Recovers from slow corners in a jiffy
- great agility, very smooth steering. May weight almost 2 tons, but the sheer power gives the car a great P/W ratio
- the brakes are insanely powerful even at stock, and they almost never lock up
- the first car to break the 300 KM/H barrier on the chosen test track
- looks and sounds mean AF. Should i say more?
Cons:
- second most expensive car in class, needs grind
- understeers a lot if you aren't careful
- very high PiR doesnt allow many upgrades

Road A Class. Hell yeah! You almost did it, this is the last step between you and the beasts in the Hypercar class. Here we'll find beautifully crafted supercars and some track monsters (literally). Let's go!

1 - BAC Mono
Price = 128400 Cr

Pros:
- exceptional handling. Snaps between corners like few other cars
- great grip in all situations
- the brakes are brutally effective. WILL outbrake most cars ingame
- overall a Caterham 620R on serious steroids
Cons:
- not so good top speed
- becomes very unstable if you drive recklessly. Drive clean and she will reward you

2 - McLaren F1
Price = 143450 Cr

Pros:
- face-melting acceleration and recovery. the insane P/W ratio grants extreme performace all-around
- braking is very good, but the brakes tend to lock up after extended continuous use
- launches quite quickly
- was literally the fastest car of the world for years (and it still is the fastest N/A car!)
Cons:
- problematic handling. Slides all around, the body roll is always there and wants to wheelie after each turn. DEFINITELY not for rookie drivers. Literally the embodiment of No Guts, No Glory. NEEDS a good tuning to at least stabilize her.
- very expensive, needs grind to obtain

3 - Honda 2&4 Concept
