How to Start Playing Nurse

You may be wondering how to get into nurse. Before you start, you need to ensure your tear ducts are in working order. This will be important for later. You also want to go into your windows settings and turn up your mouse sensitivity, which can be found by clicking here. You can also increase mouse sensitivity in DBD's settings, which I also recommend doing.

First, you need to launch dead by daylight on steam. This is typically done by pressing the play button. Next, you need to skip the opening cutscene and let the game load. After left clicking once, you should see the main menu. Select "Play as killer." In the top left of the screen, you should see a button with nine squares. Select this button, then nurse. In the bottom right of your screen, there is a button labelled "ready." click this. In 2-3 business days, you will get into a lobby with survivors, where you must wait an additional 60 seconds.

Now that you are in a game, you can start chasing survivors!
The Game Plan
The first thing to do upon getting into a game is to assign each generator numbers 1-8, then roll 1d8. Blink to the generator you rolled the number for. Nurse will clench her fist when she is at full blink range. If there are no survivors or scratchmarks, roll again. Continue the process until you find a survivor.

When you find a survivor, blink immediately behind where they are. This is so that they can't just walk backwards when you get there and treat you like the damned fool you are. When you miss your swing, you may start to lose morale. Morale is the most important part of playing nurse.

If you manage to down the survivor, congratulations! Go ahead and hook them to collect your reward. This will typically increase your morale.

Once you have a hooked survivor, you should try to intercept the poor sorry bastard who comes to save them, and hook said sorry bastard if at all possible. They will probably get away at first, which may cost you precious morale.

By now, you will probably be crying. This is okay. It is okay to cry. You can let it all out. It's okay if all of the survivors escape at first. You're still learning. Nurse is the hardest killer in the game. I love you. You can and will get better.

Map RNG
Map RNG is the worst part of DBD. Balancing is fine, but map rng is utter ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and most maps are very poorly designed. You cannot do anything about this but use map offerings. If you are too unlucky to get map offerings in your bloodweb, plan B is to go sit in your crybox for however long you may need. I personally spend 10-15 minutes in my crybox after each nurse match.
Nurse Training Regiment
1. Play at least 5 games a day as nurse.
2. Spend however long you need in your crybox.
3. Play up to 5 more a day,
4. Get the rest you so dearly need.

For your first day, you will want to use plaid patch. After that, switch to spoon and horse until you get fairly comfortable. These add ons offer starting nurse players a slightly more comfortable vanilla nurse, which is what one wants to get good at her.

Could't have described the map rng better myself. ill gladly dump more time into this killer but as long as the map tile rng keeps and the fact most tiles require you to over-extend a blink in order just to pass through just goes to show how this major issue in the game not only effects Nurse. but all Killers and even Survivor's performance when maps show up dead with zero tiles
