Overview
A large part of beating Elven Curse on veteran difficulty is based on the RNG of the workers you get. Fortunately, you can save multiple times and load any save file that suits your needs. I personally don't like relying on luck but you're going to have a difficult time if you do not get the workers you need. But once you get the top tier workers, you won't have to worry about managing workers as much past Day 13. The way I manage workers is to save before a worker spawns then load that save file if you don't get the worker you want.
Types of workers
Workers you need to keep and load a previous save if they die.

+2 food
+100% dmg
+100% dmg, -50% hp

Obviously you need dmg, the faster you kill the enemies, the less likely your units die and buildings getting damaged.
You can't have an army without food and believe me having a large army will eat up your food supply.
At Day 22, I had 26 Bloodhunters, 17 Archdruids, 14 Druids, 12 workers for food, 1 worker for mana.

Workers you need to throw away are workers that consume twice or triple the food for armor.
You don't need armor in this game, and when you do need armor you can use trents that are spawned from Archdruids.

Workers you can keep until you get a better one or your supply cap is maxed

Any worker not mentioned above.

As the game went on, I only kept +2 workers. On Day 13 and up, you should have a strong economy to kill off your colbat, seed, moonstone, and mana workers to make room for more +dmg or +2 food workers.
Fighting Units
All melee units suck except the Trent.

Moon Spears and Druids are your bread and butter until you upgrade your Mother Tree.

Upgrade all your Moon Spears to Bloodhunters when you get a chance. Even though Moon spears get splash damage from the terrace tree, Bloodhunters have better range and have homing arrows with the terrace tree.

Druids are helpful for the armored ground enemies and ground bosses. Their Root spell can give you enough time to reduce the armor of the enemies and slow them down from overwhelming you. The meteor spell is helpful for taking out those flying units that will fly over your defense and attack your workers, other than that I wouldn't spam the Meteor spell except for emergencies. The Mushroom spell is useful to expand food below your main base because it can get crowded on the surface and dragons can some times shoot fire balls past your defenses.

Archdruids become your main damage dealers. After I unlocked them with the third upgrade of the Mother Tree, I turned every +100% dmg worker into Archdruids. Because they have the highest damage output, +100% dmg scales really well with them. But don't turn all your combat units into Archdruids. You need Druids to reduce armor of bosses and Bloodhunters to kill flying units. Archdruids attacks can often miss dragons flying up or down.

Trents are helpful for getting the aggro from bosses and being a tall wall blocking hits directed to your fragile units.
Base Design
After Day 13, I just spammed Mother Trees to increase my rate of getting good workers and possibly get more Elven essence.

This is what my defense looked like. The higher the terrace, the more range the units get on it and the less chance they will get hit from ground units. Also, Chaosyn can only attack downwards, making higher units safe.

Final Thoughts
Prioritize +damage potions on Archdruids and Bloodhunters. All other potions are not as important, you can dump them on the trent or Energy flowers.

I feel that the beginning is the hardest part for me but once I got the right workers, I was able to snowball my way to Day 22. It's pretty fun and I might try beating it without any resets or loading a previous file to see if this game is based on RNG or not.

One thing you should remember is the 50% attack speed AND 50% damage, because(If my math is right), thats actually stronger than 100% damage, and is helpful for druids to reduce armor quicker.
Not that i've won the game yet, just little helpful bits i've found
