In 7 Days to Die, there are a plethora of item modifications, that can be applied to their respective pieces to customize your weapons, armor, and clothing. Your modding choice can vary based on the build you wanna go for. Equip a silencer to get more value out of stealth! Strap on a bandolier and reload faster! Dye your weapon and armor to your liking!

Each section will discuss each group of mods, such as barrel extensions, and if they can be mixed with others or not. Each mod description will show what items it can be applied to, as well as their exact positive and negative stat bonuses. If you're not sure what a stat or value refers to, see the Glossary at the end.

All mods can be looted from high-end loot containers (weapon bags, chests, safes). To craft mods, you'll need to find a schematic, which can be found from almost any loot container.

Mods can be installed into an item by first clicking on the item, then selecting "Modify." Here, you will be able to drag and drop mods into your item, as long as they're applicable. Every time you modify a firearm, all the ammo is taken out and must be reloaded.

The amount of Mod Slots an item gets is determined by its item level. Item Level is the number and color displayed on the icon.


Exception: Vehicles, as they do not have quality, will offer mod slots depending on the item tier. Bicycles offer 2 mod slots, Minibikes offer 3, Motorcycles and Gyrocopters 4, and 4x4 Trucks 5.

Cosmetic Mods, such as Dye, can be applied on any item. Every item only holds one dye slot, and affects the visual appearance of that item, but applies no additional effects. Armor Hat Mods don't count as Cosmetic mods.

You can only install the same mod once. You can't stack two of the same mods on the same item. Multiple armor mods of the same type will stack if applied on different pieces (exception: Bandolier). The only exception to this rule is the Drone Cargo Mod.

Some mods types, such as Tempered Blades and Weighted Heads for melee/tools, cannot be used together. Each mod section will say at the top, whether the mod types can be used in unison or not.


For reference, here is what is meant by each category of weapons

• All Firearms
  
  • Includes all rifles, the rocket launcher, shotguns, assault rifles, and handguns (including the SMG-5). Does not include archery weapons, like bows and crossbows.
• All Melee Weapons
  
  • Includes all spears, clubs, sledgehammers, fist weapons (not including actual fists), blades, and batons.
• All Tools
  
  • Includes all axes (including the chainsaw), pickaxes (including the auger), shovels, salvaging tools, and miscellaneous tools (e.g. clawhammer). Does not include nailguns, paintbrushes, flashlights, torches, or wire tools.
• All Bows and Crossbows
  
  • Primitive, Wooden, and Compound Bows, as well as Iron and Compound Crossbows
• All Vehicles
  
  • Bicycle, Minibike, Motercycle, 4x4 Truck, Gyrocopter

From sights to magazine extensions, firearms are the most sought out for their modding capabilities. Each section below will display a specific type, and delve deeper into the stat increments/decrements of each mod.

All Firearm Mods increase Entity/Block Damage by an additional +10% and increase Base Economic Value by +300 Dukes. The damage value is added with additional multipliers, such as the quality damage bonus.

- Attachments to affect the way bullets exit the gun. Only 1 Barrel Extension mod type can be applied per firearm.


- Applicants: All Firearms, Robotic Turret
- Positives: +20% Effective Range, +20% Max Range, +5% Aim Accuracy (+5% Additional Aim Accuracy w/ Rifles)
- Negatives: -10% Hipfire Accuracy, +10% V. Recoil, +5% H. Recoil, -8% Hipfire Handling
- An excellent mod for precision weapons, such as the Sniper Rifle, and a good choice for Assault Rifles too if you prefer to aim down sights. The Barrel Extender, however, makes spraying and hipfiring more unreliable.


- Applicants: All Firearms (except Shotguns), Robotic Turret
- Positives: -25% V. Recoil, -15% H. Recoil, +8% Handling
- Negatives: N/A
- If you like spraying with fast-firing weapons, such as the SMG-5, this will be a good choice for you. The Muzzle Break diverts combustion gases through the top of the barrel, decreasing recoil and improving your recoil recovery.


- Applicants: All Firearms (except Rocket Launcher)
- Positives: Reduce Gunshot Noise (Amount depends on the gun used).
- Negatives: -15% Damage, -20% Effective Range, -25% Max Range
- Though the damage and range reduction may be adverse to some, Silencers are a great addition to your pistols or rifles if you're looking to stealth. Silencers decrease the amount of noise created by your gun, allowing you to remain undetected for longer.


- Applicants: All Shotguns and Robotic Turret
- Effect: -40% Spread
- Negatives: N/A
- For the people who love shotguns, but hate the spread. Shotgun Chokes tighten the accuracy of our favorite shell shredding shotguns, allowing you to deal more damage to a single target.


- Applicants: All Shotguns (except Double Barrel)
- Effect: +120% Spread
- Negatives: -15% Effective Range, -15% Max Range
- And for those who like BIG SPREAD, this sawed-off barrel "extension" will grant your shotguns less accuracy to hit more targets.

- Effect: -45% V. Spread, +75% H. Spread (Makes your spread rectangular)
- Negatives: N/A
- An oddball attachment used by experimental survivors. The Duck Bill attachment makes your horizontal spread larger than your vertical spread, which can allow for you to hit multiple targets better than the Sawed Off Barrel, if you're on even grounds.

- Replacements to your typical ironsights. Sights and scopes can increase visual magnification and allow you to get better shots on your targets. Only 1 Sight mod type can be applied per firearm.


- Applicants: All Firearms (except Double Barrel), All Crossbows
- Positives: +30% Handling, Adds a Dot Sight to your weapon
- Negative: N/A
- The perfect weapon attachment for those looking for a tactical sight. Reflex sights make aligning shots even easier than your usual ironsights, and further enhance your ability to maintain accuracy while firing.


- Applicants: All Firearms (except Shotguns), All Crossbows
- Positives: +10% Aim Accuracy, +10% Additional Aim Accuracy w/ Snipers and Crossbows, Aiming zooms in 2x
- Negatives: Aiming greatly reduces vision
- A simple scope, suitable for all kinds of weapons, from handguns to assault rifles. If you prefer a scope while fighting, a 2x Scope will provide good magnification and aiming accuracy. Be wary of tunnel vision.


- Applicants: All Rifles, All Assault Rifles, All Crossbows
- Positives: +18% Aim Accuracy, +18% Additional Aim Accuracy w/ Snipers and Crossbows, Aiming zooms in 4x
- Negatives: Aiming greatly reduces vision
- With a bit more magnification, this 4x Scope is built to attach to medium-sized firearms. It's a good line between too little and too much.


- Applicants: Rifles Only
- Positives: +25% Aim Accuracy, +25% Additional Aim Accuracy w/ Snipers, Aiming zooms in 8x
- Negatives: Aiming greatly reduces vision
- Snipin's a good job, mate. The 8x Scope grants the largest zoom of any sight, and makes a great choice for long-range precision.

- Change the way your weapon shoots by modding out the firing mechanism. Choose from fully automatic, semi automatic, and burst fire modes. Only 1 Fire Mode mod type can be applied per firearm.


- Applicants: Sniper Rifle, Auto Shotgun, All Assault Rifles (except M60), Pistol, SMG-5, .44 Desert Vulture
- Positives: Locked Semi-Auto Mode, +10% Fire Rate
- Negatives: +5% Incremental Spread
- For those who struggle to conserve ammunition with automatic weapons, the Semi Mod might appear useful. Other than that, it can grant a decent fire rate increase to weapons that already shoot in semi-auto mode.


- Applicants: Sniper Rifle, Auto Shotgun, All Assault Rifles (except M60), All Handguns (except Pipe Pistol and .44 Magnum), Robotic Turret
- Positives: Locked Full Auto Mode, +12% Fire Rate
- Negatives: +6% Incremental Spread
- Turns any ordinary firearm into a bullet hose. Use this Full Auto Mod to turn your favorite semi-auto weapons into assault machines.


- Applicants: Sniper Rifle, Auto Shotgun, All Assault Rifles (except M60), All Handguns (except Pipe Pistol and .44 Magnum), Robotic Turret
- Positives: Locked Burst Fire Mode, +10% Fire Rate
- Negatives: +5% Incremental Spread
- For those who like a mix between ammo conservation and spraying down enemies, this Burst Fire mod will do. Burst Fire works in that holding down the trigger will fire three bullets in rapid succession. Tapping the trigger only once fires one bullet, like normal.

- Several different attachments used to improve accuracy, weapon handling, and reduce recoil. These can all be combined together, unrestricted by other mods.


- Applicants: All Rifles, All ARs (except M60), All Shotguns
- Positives: +15% Hipfire Accuracy
- Negatives: N/A
- Who needs to aim? This Retracting Stock further your aim while hipfiring. Great when combined with the perk Run and Gun.

- Positives: +15% Hipfire Accuracy, +15% Additional Hipfire Accuracy while Crouching, +13% Hipfire Handling, -5% V. Recoil, -5% H. Recoil

- Fore Grips improve your overall weapon expertise while hipfiring, especially while moving. They can help decrease recoil as well. However, its benefits lessen for those who prefer aiming down sights.


- Applicants: All Rifles, All Assault Rifles, All Crossbows
- Positives: +8% Aim Accuracy, +35% Aim Handling
- Negatives: -5% Hipfire Accuracy, -5% Accuracy while Walking, -5% Hipfire Handling
- Can't get enough accuracy? We've gotcha covered. Bipods allow you to steady your aim, improving accuracy and weapon handling.

- Because you can never have too many bullets. Magazine extenders allow you to load more ammo into your guns. Only 1 Magazine mod type can be applied per firearm.


- Applicants: Sniper Rifle, Auto Shotgun, All Assault Rifles, All Handguns (except Pipe Pistol and .44 Magnum), Robotic Turret
- Positives: +50% Magazine Size
- Negatives: N/A
- A simple Magazine Extender, increasing the amount of bullets you can carry. Fits into almost any weapon, and a great mod to have, no matter your build.


- Applicants: Auto Shotgun, All Assault Rifles, SMG-5, Robotic Turret, Robotic Drone (???)
- Positives: +100% Magazine Size
- Negatives: -25% Reload Speed
- A hulking Drum Magazine, which effectively doubles your magazine size when installed into a firearm. However, because of its size, the Drum Magazine is slower to reload. When combined with perks, the reload penalty is negligible. For some reason, also, it can be used on the Robotic Drone. I don't believe it has any effects, however.


- Applicants: Pump Shotgun Only
- Positives: +37.5% Magazine Size

- For those who haven't found an Auto Shotgun yet, this Tube Extender increases your Pump Shotgun's magazine size, allowing you to load up to three additional shells.

- Side-attachments that can be turned on and off with F. Lasersights will increase accuracy and aim speed, and Flashlights will provide a modest amount of light. Only 1 Side-attachment mod type can be applied per firearm.


- Applicants: All Firearms and Crossbows
- Positives: +20% Hipfire Accuracy, +20% Handling
- Negatives: N/A
- Laser sights will tighten the spread of your firearm while hipfiring, while also improving your weapon handling. Press F to activate a laser dot sight, which glows faintly on the surface you aim at.


- Applicants: All Firearms, All Crossbows, Sledge Turret
- Effect: Attachment emits light (Hold/Tap F to activate)
- Functioning very similar to the regular Flashlight, this attachment will provide you with a good amount of radiance to light your way in the dark. Good for early game, though the Helmet Light mod comes much more in handy.

- Additional mods specific for bows and crossbows. Though there aren't that many, Bows and Crossbows share a lot of modding potential with guns (see bottom for more detail).

- For the aspiring archer, packing on a bit of extra projectile speed will always help. The faster your arrows fly, the further they travel.

- Want better aim? Get an Arrow Rest and keep your shots steadier as you line up the target.


- Crossbows can use some scopes and the red dot sight.
- Crossbows can use laser sights and flashlights.
- Bows can use the Ergonomic Foregrip.

Weighted heads, sharpened blades, reinforced handles... Want a bit more kick from your melee weapon? Some more destruction in your tools? Melee and Tool mods are often shared, but each has their specific uses. Mix and match each different mod, and see what you like.

All Melee/Tool Mods increase Base Entity/Block Damage by an additional +10% and increase Base Economic Value by +300 Dukes. The damage value is added with additional multipliers, such as the quality damage bonus.

- Bladed weapons, such as knives, can use different blade mods, which typically increase the strength and durability of the weapon. Alternatively, for blunt weapons, you can equip a weighted head, which increases knockdown potential. Only 1 Blade/Head mod type can be applied per weapon.


- Applicants: All Knives, Spears, Fist Weapons, Axes, and Shovels
- Positives: +10% Block Damage, -15% Degradation
- Negatives: N/A
- For melee weapons, the Tempered Blade mod will improve your weapon's durability, allowing it to last longer before requiring repairs. Axes and Shovels also benefit from this, while also gaining a bit of extra block damage.


- Applicants: All Knives, Spears, Fist Weapons, Axes, and Shovels
- Positives: +10% Chance to Bleed on Regular Attack, All Attacks Refresh Bleed
- Negatives: N/A
- On bladed weapons, which already cause bleeding wounds, the Serrated Blade grants a 10% chance to cause an additional bleeding wound stack. For other melee weapons, which do not cause bleed (nor stack bleeding wounds), the extra DPS couldn't hurt, but there are certainly better options.


- Applicants: All Weapons (except Knives), Tools, Sledge Turret
- Positives: +15% Knockdown Chance
- Negatives: N/A
- Especially for Sledgehammers and Clubs, this Weighted Head mod will increase the odds of you knocking down an enemy, with either regular or power attacks.

- Clubs have their own unique section of mods, which change the visual appearance of all Club weapons, while also granting new buffs and powers. Make Lucille proud with a Barbwire-Wrapped Bat. Only 1 Club mod type can be applied per weapon.


- Applicants: Clubs Only
- Positives: -20% Armor Rating for 20s on Hit, All Attacks Refresh Duration
- Negatives: N/A
- For those tanky, armored targets, the Metal Spikes mod is an excellent choice. You can use it for pure melee combat, or you can tag armored zombies, allowing you to deal more damage with your firearms. One of my personal favorites for end-game combat with Bats and Clubs.

- Positives: +20% Chance to Bleed on Regular Attack, +40% Chance to Bleed on Power Attack, All Attacks Refresh Bleed
- Negatives: N/A
- The Bleeding chance may not be 100%, but it could add the slightest bit of extra DPS you may need to take down heavy targets. Bleeds from mods do not stack.

- Further improve your ability to knock down enemies with a bouquet of Metal Chains. Combined with the Weighted Head, your normal attacks can stun enemies very often, with each stun lasting a long time.

- Positives: Electrocutions Guarantee Knockdown and Knockback Enemy
- Negatives: N/A
- An intricate mod to use, and a fun one at that. Upon electrocuting an enemy, they will be sent flying backwards, knocked down to the ground. Renders the Stun Baton even more effective at disabling enemies and gaining distance. Can be crafted once you've read Tech Junkie Vol 5.

- Mods that decrease your item's degradation, giving it overall more uses before needing repairs.


- Applicants: All Weapons and Tools

- Perfect for any tool or melee, this Structural Brace gives your items effectively +25% more uses.


- Applicants: All Knives, Spears, Fist Weapons, and Tools

- For those who really want a durability bonus, this Diamond Tip Blade can be unlocked via crafting with the Art of Mining magazine. Its recipe is rather rare to craft, requiring raw diamonds.

- Attaching a grip to your weapon can better improve its stamina economy, and maybe provide some interesting effects.


- Applicants: All Weapons, Tools, Bows, Sledge Turret
- Positives: -10% Stamina Drain (includes regular and power attacks), +10% Handling w/ Bows
- Negatives: N/A
- Especially for stamina-costly weapons, such as Sledgehammers and Pickaxes, this Ergo Grip will help immensely in improving stamina economy, allowing you to swing for longer. It also improves your weapon handling with Bows.


- Applicants: All Weapons, Tools, Bows, Sledge Turret
- Positives: Regen 0.2 HP/sec while under or at 50% Max Health...
- Negatives: ...at the cost of 1 food/sec while healing.
- For those that like to live on edge, a Fortifying Grip will slightly improve your survivability, by adding a small regen effect (+1 Health every 5 seconds) while under half health. Stacks with the Fortitude perk Healing Factor.

- Mods made for destroying objects to acquire raw material, to assist later in crafting and building. Construction mods can be combined and mixed in any way, even on weapons.

- Specifically made for splitting into tough rocks; optimal for cutting-edge pickaxes. The Bunker Buster increases damage against all stone, whether it be from the terrain or a placed block.

Deck yourself out with some armor mods! Though you may only seek the additional defense, certain armor mods provide supportive bonuses as well, such as the Bandolier, which gives additional reload speed.

- Part cosmetic, part insulation. These Hat mods will change the appearance of your helmets to the respective clothing item, while also providing some insulation against both the heat and the cold. The amount of given insulation depends on the item level of the armor helmet you put this mod on.

- With the exception of Cloth Armor, all armor sets have negative stats towards stamina, movement speed, and noise. Use these mods to reduce those penalties, and with some armor pieces, actually create bonuses. Improved and Customized Fittings cannot be used together. Basic and Advanced Muffled Connectors cannot be used together.

Note: Stamina/s (Regen) refers to how much additional stamina will regenerate while not running. Positive regen values indicate improved regeneration. Stamina/s (Drain) refers to how much stamina drains while running. Negative drain values indicates reduced stamina drain. These bonuses will apply additionally to armor stamina penalties.

- Positives: +2% Mobility, +1.4% Stamina/s (Regen), -2.8% Stamina/s (Drain)

- Improved Fittings improve armor attaching near joints, allowing for you to move more freely. They also decrease some of the stamina regeneration penalties that armor normally gives.

- Positives: +3% Mobility, +2.1% Stamina/s (Regen), -5.6% Stamina/s (Drain)
- Negatives: N/A
- An upgrade to the Improved Fittings, these custom-made joints will further reduce the movespeed and stamina regen penalties from armor.

- Thick, steel connectors made to fit into the joints of armor, suppressing the noise made from movement. Muffled Connectors decrease the noise penalty armor typically gives. When applied on Cloth Armor (which has no noise penalty), you can effectively muffle 4% of all noise per mod installed.

- Like the Muffled Connectors, only advanced. These fittings are an excellent choice for stealth builds, having double the noise suppression of normal Muffled Connectors. They allow you to wear Military Armor while stealthing, without noise penalty. If applied on Cloth Armor, you can gain a net increase in noise reduction; you'll become even quieter!

Ever think your reload is too slow? Can you not see in the dark? Want to drink murkywater without risk? Support mods can provide unique bonuses to your armor, whether they be for combat or utility.

- Perhaps you should reconsider your diet. Or, maybe, you need a quick drink and have no time to waste! Fret not, as this Water Purifier allows you to drink the filthiest of fluids without contracting dysentery.

- By pressing F, you can now activate your Helmet Light, which will provide a modest amount of light in the direction you look. Very useful for venturing at night or dark places.


- Applicants: All Leg and Chest Armor

- Negatives: Bandolier Effects do not stack
- An excellent combat mod, which allows you to reload faster with any weapon. This reload speed buff stacks with additional buffs, such as those from perks. However, two Bandoliers do not stack to make +30% reload speed.

- Positives: Increase Safe Fall Distance by +1.4m
- Negatives: N/A
- Ever wanted to feel like you're in Borderlands? Now you can with the Impact Bracing! You won't be able to jump off the Buzzard's Nest completely intact, but you'll still be able to fall a lot further while taking less damage, and have a lower chance of spraining/breaking a leg. See Glossary for more info on the Safe Fall Distance.

- Normally, the Player starts off with 27 open inventory slots. Once you carry too much, you become encumbered, reducing your movement speed by -3% for every item over the limit. Storage mods can help increase your open inventory slots, negating the encumbrance penalties.

- Don't have enough armor mod slots? By default, you can craft single clothing pockets, which grant one extra inventory slot per modded clothing item! If you've found the right Needle and Thread magazine, you can craft Double Clothing Pockets! Both pockets attach directly to clothing items.

- So you've built/found a fancy new Drone to follow you around? Better deck it out with some nifty enhancements! Drone Mods can improve your faithful companion in a multitude of ways, from increased cargo to allowing it to heal you!

All Drone Mods increase Base Economic Value by +300 Dukes.


- Applicants: Robotic Drone Only
- Positives: +50% Armor Rating, -50% Degradation
- Negatives: N/A
- A thick fence to protect your precious friend. This mod will help your drone take less damage while in the heat of battle.


- Applicants: Robotic Drone Only
- Positives: +8 Inventory Slots
- Negatives: N/A
- A little backpack for your buddy to help you carry more goodies. Unlike other mods, the Cargo Mod is stackable, meaning you can apply multiple Cargo Mods on the same drone.


- Applicants: Robotic Drone Only
- Positives: +10% Stamina Regeneration (while Drone is deployed)
- Negatives: N/A
- A cute, squishable keepsake to place on your drone, brightening your day with each glance. The Morale Booster is excellent for combat and resource-gathering-- that extra stamina helps!


- Applicants: Robotic Drone Only
- Effect: Drone comes with attached Flashlight (can be toggled on and off by accessing the Drone)
- A shiny, eye-melting halogen lamp, allowing your flying friend to chase the darkness away. Generally good for night missions if you have no other means of generating light.


- Applicants: Robotic Drone Only
- Positives: When you or an ally are at 75% Health or below, your Drone will automatically come to your aide, healing you with whatever you supplied it with (you can also have the drone heal you by manually accessing its control panel)
- Negatives: Requires that the Drone's inventory contains either First Aid Bandages or First Aid Kits. Automatic healing has a cooldown of 16s.
- Tactical little arms for your drone to play doctor with. The Medic Mod is arguably one of the best mods for your Drone; having automatic healing in emergency situations is like having life insurance. Works great for singleplayer and multiplayer alike.

- Pimp your ride with the all-new vehicle mods! These modifications are a must-have for any survivor, ranging from the quest-happy trader to the survivalist nomad.

- Positives: -50% Fuel Usage
- Negatives: N/A
- Tired of having to scavenge for just a drop gasoline? Or maybe you're finally fed up with mining all that oil shale. The Fuel Saver mod will cut your vehicle's gas consumption rate in half, making your tank last longer.


- Applicants: All Vehicles (except Bicycle)
- Effect: +120% Headlight Intensity
- These are my REAL highbeams. It's probably illegal to use these on a road, but all the cops have turned undead! Off Road Headlights turn your regular headlights into crack-cocaine headlights, greatly enhancing their power and range.


- Applicants: All Vehicles (except Bicycle)
- Positives: +25% Maximum Regular Speed, +15% Maximum Turbo Speed
- Negatives: N/A
- CUSTOM BUILT BIKE GOIN' 103. Super Charger makes your ride go FASTER. IT'S THAT EASY!


- Applicants: All Vehicles
- Effect: Grants +2 Seats
- While not so useful in singleplayer, the Expanded Seat mod is an incredible thing to have on multiplayer/co-op! Eliminating the need for separate vehicles and allowing everyone to clown-car their way around is the true meaning of friendship!


- Applicants: All Vehicles (except Bicycle)
- Positives: +50% Gas Tank Size
- Negatives: N/A
- With a similar purpose to the Fuel Saver, the Reserve Fuel Tank allows you to shove more gasoline into your vehicle's engine, allowing you to travel for longer without stops.

- Powerup mods apply unique bonuses to your weapons, allowing you to specialize in certain combat techniques. Rad Remover cannot be combined with The Hunter. Otherwise, all Powerup type mods can be used together.


- Applicants: All Weapons and Tools
- Effect: Disable Irradiated Zombie Regeneration for 90s
- Irradiated Zombies (aka Glowsticks) will quickly regenerate as much as 90% of their max health. This can be pesky for Survivors who can't put out enough damage, or for those especially tanky enemies. The Rad Remover disables their regeneration, and makes it one of the best mods for late-game combat.


- Applicants: All Firearms and Archery
- Effect: +20% Cripple Chance on all shots
- When a zombie is crippled, they have their movement speed reduced heavily for a small duration. After this duration, they gradually speed up to their original movement. Though the cripple chance is only 20%, it can be very useful to fight Feral and Irradiated enemies, who sprint by default.


- Applicants: All Weapons and Tools
- Effect: +25% Damage to all Animals
- The Hunter Mod provides a reasonable damage bonus against all animals. Strap this on your bow or hunting rifle, and never again will your food get away.


- Applicants: All Clubs, Spears, Sledgehammers, Axes (except Chainsaw), Pickaxes (except Auger), Shovels, Machete, Wrench
- Positives: +30% Chance to Ignite, All Attacks Refresh Burntime, +4 Cold Insulation, Weapon emits Light
- Negatives: N/A
- A very versatile mod, enabling your attacks to ignite enemies, causing them to take fire damage overtime. By default, the burntime is 10s, and is refreshed by every attack. The longer an enemy is on fire, the more damage they take! In addition, the Burning Shaft grants cold insulation, as well as providing light.

- Dye is a purely cosmetic mod that can be applied and removed on any weapon, tool, vehicle, armor, or clothing piece. Only one Dye can be used per item, and does not fill mod slots. Dye will color the item its respective shade, allowing you to further customize how you look.

Outfit - Shades, BDU Top, BDU Bottom, Worn Boots, holding Auto Shotgun. Shades will only have dyed appearance if Reflections are turned off in settings.

A list of definitions for all terms used throughout the guide. Good for those trying to pinpoint exactly what they want in a build, or just didn't know what a certain stat meant.

Accuracy - The precision of your weapon's cone of fire. Higher accuracy (or accuracy bonuses) will improve your firing precision.

Aim - Firing a weapon while aiming down sights with M2. Some Mods will have certain effects triggered only while aiming.

Armor Rating - The amount of damage resistance an enemy or player has. Armor Rating is directly converted into resist (i.e. 50 Armor Rating = 50% Damage Resistance). Armor Rating does not protect against explosive damage.

Bleed - Enemy loses 0.9 Health per second, for 20 seconds (18 Damage total, if not refreshed). Can be triggered by some mods. Knives will guarantee one bleeding wound, which are stackable. See Additional Guides for additional information.

Cripple - Zombie has their movement speed slowed down significantly for a short duration. Slowly, their movement speed will increase until they've reached their original mobility.

Degradation - Refers to the rate at which your item loses durability as it is used. Degradation directly increases durability (e.g. -10% Degradation = +10% Durability).

Effective Range - The range at which your weapon can deal maximum damage. Past the Effective Range, damage will decrease gradually until it reaches zero at a Maximum Range.

Fire Rate - How many bullets can come out of your firearm. Base Fire Rate is dependent on the type of weapon.

Handling - Weapon Handling refers to how quickly you reach a stable accuracy while aiming or hipfiring (your accuracy increases faster). Because of this, Handling also increases how well you can maintain accuracy while rapid firing.

Hipfire - Firing a weapon without aiming. Some Mods will have certain effects triggered only while hipfiring.

Incremental Spread - Causes your accuracy to decrease more after firing a shot. Accuracy will gradually decrease when rapid firing. Similar to Handling, only in opposite.

Knockdown - Knockdowns are when a zombie is temporarily knocked to the ground, vulnerable and unable to attack. They will eventually stand back up and resume pursuit.

Magazine Size - Refers to how many bullets can be loaded into a gun.

Recoil - The kick of your gun as a result of firing. Recoil will cause your screen to shake and vision to displace. V. and H. Recoil refer to vertical and horizontal recoil respectively.

Safe Fall Distance - The distance at which a player can fall without taking damage. By default, this is 6m. At 7m, the player takes 5 damage, and has a 25% chance to sprain their leg. Each additional meter increases the odds of spraining a leg by +25%, and increases damage taken by 5. At 8m, the player has a 20% chance to break their leg, which increases by +20% for every meter over 8. Having a sprained, sprinted, or broken leg lowers all distances by 2m. Spread - Similar to Accuracy, but specific to shotguns. A lower spread will result in a tighter cone of fire, whereas a higher spread results in a wider cone.

Stun - Zombie is staggered and has their movement and attack speed decreased temporarily. After the duration, they will have momentary stun resistance.
