How to Make Characters Recruitable
Want to know how to add recruitable characters yourself? Sweet, then allow me to explain.

This guide uses the "Recruit Anyone v1" mod.

First I will explain how to add characters from other mods

[Mods]

1.) Open FCS(forgotten construction set) typically found @ "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Kenshi". Now click the "create a new mod file" button on the right of that box that popped up. This will be your mod folder that will enable you to make editions to other mods. Name the mod whatever you prefer and move to the next step(keep fcs open).

2.) Let's say you want to recruit a "Praetorian Droneguard" from the "Hives Expanded" mod. You will need to find the "Hives Expanded" mod folder in the kenshi workshop folder, typically found @ "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\233860". The way I do this is searching for a word in the mods name, such as "hive" or "expansion". From here I see "Hiver_Expansion" mod file or whatever mod you want to edit. Right-click and open file location. Keep the folder open.

3.) Now back to FCS, we want to make a new mod with a name matching exactly the mod file's name from step 2. Once done, go to the mod folder @ "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Kenshi\mods". Now open the mod folder that you just made(for me it would be Hiver_Expansion) and delete the mod file. From here let's copy the contents of the mod folder we kept open in step 2 and paste into the this one.

4.) Now we need to repeat that process and get the "Recruit Anyone" mod (1672832964 in the workshop folder) placed into your kenshi\mod folder.

5.) Back to FCS you should have made 3 mods(not showing up? try reloading fcs). You want to select the three mods that you made and make sure that the mod we made in step 1 has " *Active* " next to it by clicking on it. Next ensure that "gamedata.base","Newworld.mod","Dialogue.mod", & "Rebirth.mod" are all selected in the top. Click Done.

6.) Fiiinnally we start modding. Click on "Characters" & find the character that you want to recruit. In my case it's the Praetorian Droneguard. Double-click or right-click and open item. Click on the drop down box that likely says "AI Goals" and change it to "dialogue package". Click "Add". If you did this right, you should see "__RecruitALL" as an option. Well you guessed it, select that. Click save in the top left.

7.) Start up Kenshi, select your new mod, and place it anywhere under the mod(s) that have the recruitable characters.

8.) Enjoy!

[Vanilla]

Refer to the [Mods section if you have trouble understanding]

1.) Complete Step 4 in the [Mods] Section.

2.) Open FCS. Make a new mod. Make sure the top 4 options are selected and your mod and the recruit anyone mod is selected. Put your mod below and click done.

3.) Complete steps 6-8 in the [Mods] section.

4.) Enjoy

Hopefully this makes sense.

Initially this was supposed to be a comment, but it was too long, so here we are.

If you make a patch for a mod and publish it somewhere that others can access it, you should reference the Recruit Anyone mod maker "SureI'llHaveIt" and his mod.

I did move them into my mods folder. I moved the NWDM mod files and Recruit All mod files. They do not show up in FCS though.

FCS sees only those mods you manually moved into game's mods folder.

Doesn't work for me. The characters from NWDM don't show up in FCS.

it'd be nice if there were a video explanation

Quick stupid answer: yes you can!
Just open the platoon, go to Changes, Instance_collection, double click the character, and the third item on the chart "Target" got the mod name in RED :D

Quick stupid question. Let's say I don't know what mod is an npc from, but I know what's his platoon (in fact I'm on his stats on fcs)
Is there a way to tell the mod from looking at it?

По моему это руководство следовало бы сделать более понятным, я считаю что руководство хрен нормально поймешь даже изучая каждое слово что нужно сделать.

TameBeasties patch guide says that we need to add the dialogue to the squad so it'll work. Thus I learned how to patch both humanoids and animals alike (with corresponding mods)

Happy to help! Go recruit them all, Champ! <(^_^)>

Update : The issue was exactly as @ReD2222 stated. Guide prob needs that updating, the correct place was in the squad and required the recruitment dialog adding to the squad and leader parts separately. Thanks for the help red :)
