Assassin's Creed Brotherhood Stuttering and Performance Fix (2020)
I will be writing other guides for AC Revelations and AC3 Remastered, that share a common fix to this game. This fix has been tested with the base Steam version of the game, but should work with any special editions and on any client.

Please Read Carefully
  1. Launch AC Brotherhood through Steam or whatever client you are using to play.
  2. Press ALT+TAB to return to the desktop.
  3. Open the task manager using CTRL+SHIFT+ESC.
  4. Head over to the "Details" tab,
  5. Right click the executable, typically towards the top of the list if sorted alphabetically.
  6. Click "set affinity."
  7. Uncheck ALL Cores except Core 0.
  8. Click "OK."
  9. Right click the executable again, and click "set affinity" once more.
  10. Re-check ALL CPU Cores.
  11. Click "OK."
  12. You should be able to close Task Manager, and ALT+TAB back into the game, but now with even smoother and more consistent performance!
PLEASE NOTE: THIS FIX MUST BE DONE EVERY SINGLE TIME YOU LAUNCH THE GAME!

Hopefully this guide has helped you solve any issues you are having with stuttering and/or low FPS in a game that has no right performing poorly in 2020. This, unfortunately, didn't work for me, but I did stumble upon a solution after hours of trial and error. For some reason, setting my CPU to a single core (core 0) with VSync on to 60Hz resolves the stuttering. Here's what I put in the startup options for the game in Steam:

C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe /C start "" /affinity 1 "<path-to-game>\ACBSP.exe" %command%

(replace <path-to-game> with the location of the game's installation folder, e.g. "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Assassins Creed Brotherhood")

Here's a brief rundown of my system's specs:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 7600
GPU: AMD Radeon RX 7900 GRE
RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 MT/s CL30
OS: Windows 11 24H2
Resolution: 3840 x 2160 (4K), 60 Hz

None of these "fixes" helped me. I still get stutters. Funny thing if I open my window tabs or turning my volume up or down, the game goes to max fps without stuttering until the menu of the volume or windows tab closes then it goes back to stuttering

Yeah, just crashes for me immediately. This is fucking weird because a week ago I was playing Brotherhood completely fine with no issues, but now the game runs horribly.

Fix no longer seems to work. Every time I try to set the affinity, the game crashes when I return to the game. Immediate close, no warning.

What are yall on? This works like charm for my ACB from Ubisoft Connect app. Finally smooth 144FPS with vsync on my high end PC.

А может наоборот?))) На 0-вом (первом) потоке работают задачи винды и игра, и суть в том, чтобы скинуть игру с нулевого потока, а не заставить её работать на нем. Проснись

Hi all if ever you are using ryzen processor's mine is a R7 5700x I just updated my bios to the latest version and it did fix the stuttering issues and have now a better FPS and have maxed all the graphic settings for this game and Im on a RTX 3060 graphics card here is the link for the YT tutorial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=keCKj1w01OY , it says 1yr ago but did work for me and might work for you too. He also mentioned that this might solve all of the stuttering issues on old good games that running on newer setups. Thanks! "nothing is true" "Everything is permitted

everyone knows what to do if Ezio's trilogy freezes, but no one will tell you what to do if this solution doesn't work
