Level 1 - The basics:

• There are 16 lost children in total.
  
• 8 of them are somewhere in Soul Town while the other 8 can be found across Neverseen.
  
• You need to defeat the witch to find all the children.

Level 2 - Some more details:

• In Soul Town, some areas have 0 lost children, some areas have 1, 1 area has 2 in the same screen, and 1 area has 2 in different rooms.
  
• Across Neverseen, the children are NOT hiding at any fishing locations. In fact, you need to think more generally, as in the original Swords and Souls.
