In the district of Taipei that you find yourself in, the police department is understaffed, and crime rates are high.
Taiwan has subsidized massive amounts of their economy to the international conglomerate known as CorpClave, who keep a firm boot on the throats of all business owners.

Whether you're a displaced refugee, a resident of Taipei, or a mercenary looking to sign up with corporations, you're in for a hell of a time.

International Corporate Alliance soldiers have been pulling off new arrivals as they get off their planes in Taipei, shuttling them into crowded urban districts regardless of their intended destination.
