A Pilot's Guide to Infighting
由 o_x 制作
Infighting is the only method of combat in Capsule. This guide will teach you how to infight, the strategies involved, and what you gain from it.

Infighting Basics
The definition of infighting, in this context, is to cause conflict within two parties without direct intervention. As a Pilot of the capsule you are not equipped with any defensive weapons and as thus, you have the option to either flee or provoke infighting when confronted with enemies.

Your only method of infighting is to cause two enemies to collide into each other. An experienced Pilot can perform this with tight, precise maneuvers of their capsule. As hostiles track and follow the capsule, this can be exploited to force two enemies to ram into the other.

These two enemies will soon collide into one another due to tracking trajectory.

Infighting Strategies
Infighting in Capsule boils down to two stages:
  • 1. Locating enemies
  • 2. Maneuvering a collision
Locating enemies
Enemies in Capsule are scattered around randomly, however, only the large enemies (shown on the radar as large diamonds before scanning) will drop oxygen and power for your capsule. Small enemies such as mines and seeker mines will show up as small diamonds before a scan and will only serve to kill your chasers without any resource drop. Therefore, it is recommended to cause infighting in larger enemies if you need oxygen or power.

SMALL:

It's important to know what you will be up against before you start herding enemies into one another. Some enemies may not infight with each other. Others may grant no resources. Identification without radar pulses are also important as Shrikes can be very dangerous to your capsule and one wrong move could leave you stranded.

Maneuvering a collision
As most enemies in Capsule track the capsule (with the exception of the Seeker Mine, which flies at the capsule's last radar ping location), creating collisions between enemies is unassumingly easy.

The easiest method of infighting is to aggravate two enemies and turn your capsule. This makes the enemies chasing your capsule turn as well, the farthest turning more sharply than the closest, forcing a collision between the two.

You can also utilize your radar ping to aggravate specific enemies (the Shrike and Seeker Mine) if they are behind another enemy such as a Drone. This will also cause a collision as their pathfinding requires them to collide with the enemy in front.

Stationary enemies such as mines can also be used defensively by racing in front of slower enemies and adjusting your position to be in front of the mine. This will cause enemies to run into the mine and explode. This technique is similar to aggravating an enemy with the radar ping, instead utilizing your capsule's speed instead of the radar ping.

Be wary of the speed of hostiles in Capsule, as some enemies are faster than others. For example, the Shrike is one of the fastest enemies in the game and it may be wise to lead a Drone into the Shrike than the other way around.

Hostile Item Drops
Finally, the meat of the guide. By luring large enemies into other specific large enemies, you will be rewarded with oxygen or power in the form of air pockets or ion vents. This chart will show all collisions with each enemy and what they drop when colliding with another enemy.
