This game is very hard. I'm here to make your life easier and give you a basic starting point.

This is a dead-simple guide that shows you how to start with very basic strategy.

Strategy is boring. This guide is designed not to be, because it is for beginners.

    Rome: Total War is also a very easy war-game to play. The game has an extremely low skill-floor, but the difficulty can be increased greatly by choosing Gauls (or a similar faction) and increasing the game's difficulty.

    So, you may want to start there instead.

    Most importantly, Rome: Total War (2004) gives you instant satisfaction, unlike Age of Empires (franchise) or StarCraft (franchise).

    Apologies for mentioning a potential competitor-game, but I think some folks could benefit from this suggestion.
