Gameplay Tips
Shooting
  • Aim for the head! Headshots deal an extra 15% damage. This can mean the difference between 2 shots vs 3 shots for some weapons.
  • Work on prioritising zombies based on their threat. Start with the zombies attacking your barricade, then the zombies likely to reach it soonest, and finally the zombies furthest away.

Grenades and Barrels
  • You will start to unlock Explosive Barrels from Level 2, and Grenades from Level 3.
  • Both deal massive damage but are found in limited quantities. You should only use or explode them when you would die otherwise, or when there is a big clump of zombies that can be taken out.
  • If you allocate a Barrel during a night but don't shoot or explode it, it will be returned to your inventory.

Armored Zombies
  • Police Zombies and Military Zombies. both with Armor, will start to appear from the middle of the game.
  • Police zombies have 25% damage reduction when hit in the torso, and Military zombies have a 75% reduction when hit in the torso.
  • Their head areas are unprotected, so you should aim for their heads carefully.
  • Survivors will not automatically target head areas, so you should target armored zombies as a priority when they appear.
  • Armored zombies cannot run, except in NewGame+ mode.

Survivor Management
  • Survivors will shoot infrequently, and with limited accuracy. They also deal reduced damage compared to the player.
  • Based on that, you should equip them with high-damage weapons as a priority, such as rifles, shotguns, and heavy pistols. You should give these weapons to your Survivors ahead of yourself.
  • When Survivors are equipped with automatic weapons, they will fire them in 3-round bursts.
  • When the barricade is destroyed, survivors will run away and not come back. However, it is easier to find Survivors from Looting when you have a low number of them.
  • If you lose a Survivor, you do not lose their weapon.
