After taking 1000 steps in game, Chibimi will transform into chrysalis, she will remain as chrysalis for 100 more steps in which you cannot give her presents.

You can gather from zero to ten hope and despair, but if despair meter will reach ten, your pet will die.

Hope will never lower, and you can raise it by giving your pet presents. Presents also take away despair point (one skull). It doesn’t matter what present will you give your pet, so it’s the best to give them just water or ramune.

Despair will increase as you take steps, but if you won’t clean your pet’s house despair will increase even faster.

After Chibimi’s cocoon hatches, you’ll receive adult pet, if you’ll keep it alive for next 2000 steps, you’ll get a reward.
