Intro
Back in January, the devs of GMOD changed the framework of addons (or something else idk), so previous ways of converting assets over don't work on newer addons. Just wanted to write a small guide to let people know how to do it.
Method 1: Steam Workshop Downloader
This is the most straightforward one.

This site is simple to use, mostly self explanatory.

PROS:
It's quick
Converts .gma files automatically

CONS:
Site is glitchy and can't download large file sizes
Method 2: GMAD
Make sure you have GMAD installed somewhere.

I think old addons might still work the same, so the old method might still work?

Here is a prop pack that works in SFM that I wholeheartedly recommend and will be using as an example:
(Filesize: 1GB)
https://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2061367142

You can use any recent addon if you want instead.

Anyways, download and start up GMOD and make sure its installed.

Then, start up GMAD.

You will need to find the workshop folder. If you installed steam regularly, it should be:

Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\4000

You might see a ton of confusing numbers, but don't worry, none of those matter, except for one. The number you're looking for matches exactly as the addon ID on the workshop, so: 2061367142

Inside the folder should be "bo_vehicles_2020.gma", and then extract the model and material files to a directory in your SFM installation.

EZ PZ.

Does it move the rigs too or do I have to do that myself?

I felt very heartbroken when SWD shut down because of Steam's bullshit.

Then I watched some videos and read some internet and now I can finished building this commission a friend of mine asked me to make.

Good easy 30 dollars for a WW1 scenebuilt.

1. Goto: {链接已删除}. Then open the Gmod workshop and find the models you want to download.

3. In the workshop, click "share" on the model page and copy the link. Paste the link in the steamworkshop downloader website. (paste it in the bar that says: https://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2657897800) .

4. download the file. Open it (with winrar or 7zip) and find the: Materials, and model folders.

5. drag the Material and model folders (and scripts if there) to the: common/SourceFilmmaker/game/usermod folder. replace files if needed.

The end.

for some reason the materials are in a subfolder so they don't load unless you unparent them from the subfolder.

I don't know if I'm the only one with this problem, but whenever I go into the files to find the addons...
All I see is:

123456789_legacy.bin
temp.gma

I've run Gmod and had tested the mods, but the files don't show up proper in the workshop.
Is anyone having the same problem as me?
