If it's not too much to ask then the scope should be increased to also include static locations of items to progress smoothly from early- to late-game, as that's one of the major issues with Atom.
If I take my current playthrough:
- Otra: Crafted Knuckleduster
- Otra: get shovel + rusted knife
- Otra: Hunting Rifle from the 3 wanderer event near Otra by killing them
- Rest Stop 10: loot knife
- KZM: buy or craft 2 Ciggys
- KZM: Crafted Cast Iron Shield
- KZM: Crafted Percussion Revolver
- KZM: Crafted Sharpened Knife
- Spiked Club from the book burner event near KZM
Having done that I'm currently rather lost about static locations to get the next tier of items.
- End of the Line will result in a few weapons + armour
- That one NPC in the Roaring Forest is supposed to have a rather good sniper rifle which I have to check out
- Bunker 317 might have good stuff, but I need to check that again
RPG is my main genre, but I normally only play non-RNG titles like Deus Ex, Gothic 1 and 2, Risen, Witcher etc.
Atom is even worse than Fallout 1: you need RNG events to level, you need RNG events + RNG drop chance to even get something like a linear item progression, you need RNG for any trader to have that weapon/item you're looking for to have something like a linear item progression etc.
I hate it, hence the question: it makes the game less obnoxious if I know the static location of certain weapons/armour/misc. items.
There are certainly some that are static and I would agree some of them are quite nice like "Kaydan's Armor". I personally think that armor is great if you are not looking to take the "Praetorian" ability.
Starting a entry for those would be something that when/if I get time I might start on.
It's good to know what exists, but even better to know where to get it.
