"Keep hitting 'em with the Two Forty Bravos!" - Colonel Marshall

"The M240, a full medium-sized machine gun and is a U.S Military designation for Belgium's FN MAG, identifying the role as the general-purpose machine gun. It was designed around the 1950s and was produced in 1977 which is the same year that was in service for the U.S Armed Forces. The M240 fires 7.62×51mm NATO and carries 100 rounds of standard belt-fed, but for the US Army carries 50-round side-mounted soft ammo bags used which is officially known as M240B Combat Ammo Pack. The M240 was originally designed as a coaxial machine gun for tanks and light armor vehicles but was expanded to infantry usage with variants such as the M240B, M240G and M240."

I did a little experiment by changing Rex The Impaler's MW2 M240B reloading sound. Originally it was using the M16's reloading sound and to make it realistic, I did a couple of research and experiments (thanks to CinnabarFlail's method) by using a couple of unused sounds like the silver pistols and update those unused sound files into the M240's reloading sounds. And yes the texture has been updated with a dark tone and bullets of the M240 is able to "shine". I hope you enjoy the updated M240B!


If you really want a reloadable M240B, you could download Alex's MW2 M240B HUD icon for the M60. Just note NEVER empty your box magazine or you will lose the gun despite you carry more ammo for the M240B
