Things Bannerlord Doesn't Tell You.

This guide is to help players of the Campaign not to rip their hair out trying to figure this game out.
Avoiding using google when a game first comes out is essential to not want to hang yourself with vague guides.

Feel free to add information to the comments for it to be added.
This game did just come out after all and the more information we have to help the community, the better.

Let's help eachother have the best Bannerlord experience we can have, without the rage.

Trading:

Talk to roaming Caravans for information on what sells for low and high at places.

Workshops:

Open a workshop in a CITY for 15,000 for daily income.

Kingdoms

Kingdom:

You cannot start a Kingdom until you complete the banner quest.

Kingdom Policies and Influence by ObiWanKanBlowMe

It is very worth to note that most kingdoms have policies that can change the amount of influence you get (or lose) daily. For example, Feudal Inheritance means that for every fief you have, your clan gets 1 influence daily. On the other side, there is a policy Lawspeakers that gives you +1 influence or takes away -1 influence every day based on your Charm level. Sometimes it is very hard to get influence at all in some kingdoms, don't bother with them, if your intention is to get fiefs easily.

Marriage & Family

Marriage:

Bribe your way into a Keep to speak to an unmarried Lady.
(Or be part of the Clan or Kingdom)
You must successfuly complete 3 bribes in order to woo her.
After that, get a good rep with the clan leader, or Kingdom leader.
Speak to her again, and say you should get married. Once she agrees, speak to the senor.
The senor will be her CLAN leader, NOT the kingdom leader. You will need 5k denars.

Pregnancy:

Wait in the city and speak to her once. Wait more and the it'll say she's pregnant.
She'll have a child - you do not need to wait there while she's pregnant.
Once born, you can name the child by pressing on the popup.
She can have multiple children.

Castles, Cities & Towns

If you do not own a Keep, you can inherit one from your spouse.
Follow the Marriage guide.

Alternatively, you can form your own Kingdom and take over a Castle, or City.

Keeps:

Prisoners will escape from Prison, better off selling them instead of keeping them there.

Keep upgrades:

You can upgrade your castle from the castle management tab. Each upgrade has a certain affect on the keep, ie: Garrison capacity, food capacity, production, etc.

Companions, Armies, Influence & Prisoners

Companions:

Companions can be bought at Taverns.
Having at least 1 companion will allow you, depending on the Quest, to send them in your stead to complete Quests for denars. (They will automatically return to your party. You do not have to go back and get them.

Armies:

*Once part of a Kingdom* You can also use companions to form armies which can travel alongside you to increase your maximum army size. Typically you would need influence to summon other clans to your aid, but your own army traveling alongside you doesn't require influence.

Influence:

The easiest way to gain influence is, while being part of a Clan or Kingdom, wait for them to create an Army. You'll be notified when someone creates an Army. Join their army and travel with them. You'll passively gain influence while traveling with them, helping them on their conquest.
Attack roaming bands of Looters, enemy clans, etc.
Attack settlements.

Prisoners:

Prisoners capacity is reliant on the size of your party. The more people in your party, the more prisoners which can be watched and held. Therefore increasing your prisoner limit.
Prisoners can be sold at Taverns. Note that it's not worth it, generally, to sell units that are captive other than enemy generals, which can be sold for usually 1000 denars.
Prisoners held in captivity for X amount of time are recruitable. If you find units that you're trying to build, or are higher tier than yours, keep them captive to recruit them at a later stage.

Combat, Quests, Tips & Tricks

Quests

You can receive quests from Settlements and Cities. They will be indicated by a blue exclamation mark on the NPC's portrait.
You can send Companions on Quests to complete them for you.
You don't have to return to Quest NPC to collect your reward, it's automatic after completion.

Hideouts

Hideouts are mostly bugged ATM and the player-cap makes them ridiculous. My recommendation would be to go to Nexus Mods and download "Hideout Player Cap." This removes the limit of 5 people and makes it unlimited.

Campaign Map Movement Speed

Do not sell excess horses. Excess horses not used by players will be distributed to your infantry or other units that don't have horses while traveling on the campaign map. Having 100 units, and 100 spare horses will significantly increase movement speed.

Weight

Having mules in your inventory increase your weight holding capacity.

Kinda feels like the nerf to childbirth is almost too much now, it feels almost impossible. Lost a game because brother died while travelling with a caravan, and it kind of snowballed from there.

Curious, does Governor Stats work as a Clan Leader or only for Companions set as a Governor in a Settlement? Same with Quartermaster. If you have a Quartermaster but you also have points as Steward, does the stats stack?

I'm not sure you can.
From what I know, you can only become your children once your main character dies.
Your main char can die from old age - or from battle if you have it enabled.

@Elcyion that's disappointing. I had the same thing happen to me. I sent my companion on a mission ti deal with some bandits and he went to a razed village on the other side of the map for some reason... I'm hoping the village recovers as I would like to have him back... but if what your saying is true I may as well just get rid of him... :'(

@Reignswolf, it must have been a bug. I sent him out on a "Army of Poachers" mission i think it was, and then took a caravan escort across the map. I got the money & rep for completing his mission but he & the soldiers I sent with him disappeared.

I had to Dismiss from Clan and pick him up again. Cost me 2k dinars D:

@Elycion,
Normally your companions, when a mission is complete, return to your party after about 2-3 days. If you lost them during a battle if you got held captive, they'll go to the Inn of the closest City or player owned Keep that the battle was fought near.

Go to your clan page and click on his name and it should bring up the encyclopedia. See where it says "Last seen at: X"

Otherwise, it sounds like a bug. :(

Any idea how idea how to find a lost companion? "Notables" says he's Holding near a village, but I've waited at the village and ran around it for weeks in-game and can't find him. He's not inside the village, the nearby castle or city. How do i find this guy?!?
