1. Install the game.
2. Right-click on Thief Gold in your Steam library and click Properties.
3. Click on updates and turn off automatic updates.
4. Shut down Steam (click on the Steam menu in the upper left and then exit).
5. Download Tfix from here http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=134733
6. Run the Tfix installer. Make sure to select the directory where Thief is installed when prompted (default is C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\thief_gold)
7. Once Tfix has been installed relaunch Steam.
8. Right-click on Thief Gold and click Properties.
9. Click on Local Files and then Browse Local Files.

11. Open the zip file and copy both files into the SAVES folder inside of the thief_gold folder.
12. Go back to Steam and launch Thief Gold. If everything worked then you should see the intro cutscenes playing.
13. Once the main menu appears; select options, customize controls, and then load. Select either Thief Modern Binds or Thief Ultimate Binds depending on your preference.
14. Play the game!

Hopefully this guide will help some new players to get into Thief as it is a great game. The default keybinds can be confusing and outdated but with a little tweaking it is still a fantastic experience. Happy thieving!
