Some guys are programming the server side of AOEO and doing a real good job, most everything works including single player missions, CO-OP(2 player), CO-OP vs. AI(4 player) and PVP.

Help installing

I could write up a whole section here but since the team at project celeste have already done that ill just send you there!

Following the instructions there is easy enough and they even provide some troubleshooting tips and extra steps that may be needed.

To play you will need to have an account with Project Celeste - click register and fill in your email and wait for a response code then fill in login details
If you already made an account on the website while you where waiting for downloads to complete click login, fill in your details and continue to the next step...

You can also go into Helpers and click on steam to configure steam to run this launcher instead of the default Microsoft one.

(You thought you were all done?!? Nope but you are now in possession of a copy of AOEO as Microsoft left it, now to update it to the current Celeste version)
Once you start the Celeste launcher, to the right side of the launcher you will see an icon with a hammer on it


Click the hammer and you can run the 'game scan' to update to the current Celeste game files (Warning this will take some time)


And after everything is up to date and ready to go, now you click login (enter your details), then play online, when the game loads click play

Then you can choose your civ

And of you go...

Hit the button with the cog on it (the left button of the three above the play online button)
If you only want to play against people on your LAN choose 'LAN ONLY' and on the next page it will show your local network interfaces - choose your network to use from the list

If you don't want to connect to the server to play PVP or collect gear/advisors/consumables then good news! You can play offline without connecting to the Project Celeste server.

You will need to install the game through steam or the AOEO_SETUP.EXE that the Celeste team provide you with, then you will need to update to the latest Celeste version as-well (see above instructions in the section 'Post install of AOEO')


This is simple, you don't need to login at all, just click 'Play Offline'


This will start the game with no connection to their server and you can play without the internet, but obviously no multiplayer is possible in this mode.

ALSO: gear and advisors will not work in offline mode



Just choose what kind of map you want to play and then a list of maps is shown that you can choose from and of you go!
