Guide Introduction
Note: Banner is photoshopped

Hello, player of Gun Gale Online. Are you interested in becoming a photographer? Wanna put your creativity/skills to the test in this wasteland filled with guns & bullets? This guide will explain how to use the in-game camera to take pictures.

Got suggestions for the guide or questions? post them in the comments below. I'll continue improving this guide overtime. Should Fatal Bullet ever get a Photo Mode feature, i'll revamp this guide.
Turning off HUDS
To start taking pictures in the game, you'll need to disable all of the huds through the Hud Settings.

Using in-game camera to take pictures.
There are a few camera mechanics that will help you take decent pictures of characters and other things in the game. Try them out and see what works best for the picture you are trying to take.

3rd person aiming
Taking pictures of characters with low field of view.

ArFa-Sys (Lexlilly)

Forgotten Woods - Temple
Aiming with weapon. Taken at 2160x1440 resolution, then cropped.

3rd person camera (Subject between you and camera)
Taking pictures of characters with high field of view.

Old South - East Entrance
Standing in front of kirito with the game camera behind him. Taken at 2160x1440 resolution, then cropped. Reshade effects: Depth of Field, HDR

3rd person camera (Walling/Selfie)
Best for taking pictures of your Character and ArFa-Sys up close.

SBC Flügel
Game camera up against wall. Taken at 1920x1080 resolution, then cropped.
Positioning Characters.
Using the party command(s) Act Freely, Rendezvous on me & Stand By will help you position your party member(s) in the spot you want them to be.
Cropping/Rule Of Thirds
Character
Pose
Location

Protagonist wearing LLENN's outfit
Dashing
Solitary Sands - Ship Graveyard
Taken at 6k resolution, then cropped and tilted. Reshade used for effects.

You hit the screenshot button and captured the right moment of your dashing moves or skills, but your subject isn't the point of interest in the picture. This is where you use the cropping tool with The rule of thirds[en.wikipedia.org].

Open up your photo editing software, load the captured screenshot and use the cropping tool with rule of thirds to make your subject the main interest of the entire scene like the one above.

(The one i used is Windows 10 Photos. You can right click the image and select "Edit with Photos")

This technique may not always work with some pictures and you'll have make do with what catches your eye.
High Resolution Photos
Gaming in high resolution will result in high quality, making it perfect for quality photography.
But, you should only use certain resolutions for scenes that requires them.

Resolutions
  • 1920x1080 - Face Shots/Body Shots.
  • 2560x1440 - Body Shots.
  • 3840x2160 - Body Shots (Further away).
  • 5120x2180 - Normally used to crop onto subjects very far away.
  • Remember: Higher resolutions will require more power from your GPU. So, use only what your GPU can handle.

ReShade (PC ONLY)
I've been using ReShade along with other post-processings to do photography in games. It works extremely well with Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet. I haven't had any problems with it. I mostly use Cinematic Depth of field, HDR, Bloom, Emphasize and Chromakey (used for the guide banner) in this game and photographing it.

Exactly what is ReShade?
ReShade is a generic post-processing injector for games and video software developed by crosire. Imagine your favorite game with ambient occlusion, real depth of field effects, color correction and more ... ReShade exposes an automated and generic way to access both frame color and depth information (latter is automatically disabled during multiplayer to prevent exploitation) and all the tools to make it happen.

How do you set up Reshade to work with SAOFB?

Deadly Peanut, the 3rd person camera is a reference to the normal view you have in the game. Third person refers to a view that isn't from any one characters' perspective (usually from behind the main character). First person view is like what you have when you use the sniper rifle. You see what your character sees.

as a guide for beginners, this SUCKS... where is the '3rd person camera'? how do you access it? how do you position the camera... this guide is written for people who already know how to take pictures in this game
