Looking into it that issue is because the paddy and water bed are both floor types. The soil in this mod acts like a carpet, allowing it to be layered over terrain rather than replacing. So it doesn't support other terrains being built over it.
I've encountered one conflict: I can't create a paddy or water bed from the Biosphere mod for water plants. The soil SAYS it's Diggable but the floor type Paddy and Water Bed from Biosphere give the error “requires terrain that supports diggable.” Any idea why?
I can post my mod list if necessary. Yes, it’s ridiculous. I only enable one or two at a time, then test stability…but it’s still a pretty long list.
I'm not sure how to embed images, but here's my Gravship. It's a Manta Ray shape with eight "swiss cheese" spaces that are outdoors but inside the walls. The "meditation park" is in one of the "outdoor" spaces.

I took a look at things and there's two ways to blacklist terrain. However they both work the same, if you blacklist it then you can't plant the tree on it.
Try moving the mod further down in your modlist. If that doesn't work you might want to try resubscribing, verifying your game files or simply grabbing a copy of the mod from the included github link because there's likely something wrong.
The patches themselves that make it so you can place the workbench look for terrain fertility so unless something else is interfering there shouldn't be any problems even for modded terrains.
Ah so that's what you meant. I personally haven't encountered that since I haven't really dabbled with animals like that.
While i'm a bit on the fence about it its inclusion. I'm not seeing anything in the actual files signifying if they can or can't forage on terrain. It's either code based or its probably looking at the "natural" tag. I'd rather not go changing that tag because it could potentially cause issues. As for anything code based that's outside of my skillset. If it isn't already functional then I don't see me being able to add it even if I want to.
