This guide lays out the ships alphabetically by each class. It only covers ships that are potentially ownable by the player (ie, not Outsider ships).

The bars in the header give a visual rating in comparison to other ships of the same class (ie Frigate vs other Frigates) for speed, maneuverability, and toughness. If the shield score lists a '++' after it, then the shield can be increased (or installed, if it starts at zero) by an upgrade.

Stats do not include capture resistance because this isn't defined directly by the ship, and depends only on class, size, and faction. (Examples: medium destroyer has higher res that light destroyer; TSF medium destroyer has higher res than Pride medium destroyer; and Outsiders all have 999999 res.)

Weapon stats (dps etc) are rated per each single weapon. If a weapon shows '5 x Example Turret Gun: 7 damage, 10 rps, 70 dps' then that means it would put out a total of 5x70 = 350 dps. Weapons are listed with (P) for primary weapons and (S) for secondary weapons. DPS calculations do not take armor into account; weapons with a low Damage value will be much less effective against armored targets. Also, the DPS figure assumes that every shot hits (good luck with that!).

Weapons that show '5x xxx dmg ...' are scatterguns that launch multiple projectiles (in the example, 5 bullets) per each shot. The listed rounds-per-second value indicates the actual number of projectiles launched, rather than the number of volleys fired per second.

Weapons that show '+xxx DoT' have a damage-over-time effect (eg flamethrower), and the figure listed is the 'damageOverTimeMaximum' figure in the data files. I do not know how this is interpreted in the game; it could be per-projectile, or it could be total-per-second -- if anyone has experience playing with flamethrowers, feel free to comment.

Feedback is welcome. Most of the contents are generated automatically from the game's data files, so there may be errors that I haven't noticed; also, if there are other data you'd like to see that aren't included here, let me know and I might be able to add them.
