The Ubiquitous AK-47 stands out being one of the first modern Assault Rifles in the world, re-purposed in almost every way, re-built, re-distributed and many more re- things.
The rifle fires the Russian M43 Cartridge, technically known as the 7.62x39mm, being a high velocity and penetration round. It has been used by over 90 countries and has set the starting point of what are called AK Pattern Rifles , such as the Israeli Galil, the Chinese QBZ-03, or even the Finnish RK 62.
The rifle itself didn't get much attention from countries other than Russia and the USSR until around the mid 1950's, when the rifle has been mass produced, exported and mostly rebuilt in 1958 as the AKM.

This rifle was taken from the game "Rising Storm 2: Vietnam". So were its firesounds.
It is appropriate to say that the model was ported to the source engine by The Devils Own , then ported animations made by MzK, by The Master MLG.
The original models and sounds were made by Tripwire Interactive. I ported and edited the sounds to work on the source engine.

The gun uses the old sounds from the game, i think they make the gun's character stand out a lot more.
