Teddy Long

Teddy Long's wrestling career dates back to the mid-80's in Jim Crockett Promotions, where he worked backstage and eventually joined the ring crew.

Long filled in as a referee in 1989, and transitioned into a referee and manager role. He managed Norman the Lunatic, Doom, Johnny B. Badd, One Man Gang, and many more in JCP and later, WCW.

In 1998, Long left WCW annd signed with the WWF as a referee. As the Attitude Era wound down, Long move back into a manager role, taking on several clients, included Mark Henry, Jazz, and D'Lo Brown.

A few years later, Long was named Smackdown General Manager, a position which he held off and on from 2004-2012. During his tenure as GM, Long was famous for turning run-ins and angles into tag matches as well as punishing superstars by forcing them to go one on one with The Undertaker.

Long was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2017.
