Hey! If you play as the race that has a chance to steal items on contact with DEX, you can steal all of the king's items during the fight. He'll stop attacking, try to retreat and equip his other blade once you steal both of his weapons, but if you can lock him you can continue to steal his items until you've stolen his crown and cloak, then he'll have a piece of dialogue. I didn't know of his second phase when I last did this but you can probably steal his other weapon aswell!

Well I just did Pie, salad, stew and fish and the king went and gave me a potion when I was at full health

quick tip (i managed to get it to work due to an accidental re-assigned ability) if you can TP or otherwise move away from the table in the same action/ the frame before/after the cutscene trigger so that the beam does not hit the table you can actually grab more food if you are fast as it wont go away if the table is not destroyed. this is very hard to do and is not probably intended and can make the fight harder, but it is indeed a thing you can do and a thing that is very powerful.

I'm fairly sure I had full health though I don't remember 100% on that.

I think he gives you a health potion if your health is less than maximum.
I could be wrong

So just did stew - tender - alcohol - cake and got the king giving me a health potion.
