Unpack the game exe to avoid errors
  • Download the latest version of this tool[github.com]. You only need the main archive, not the source code.
  • Unpack the archive with software like 7zip or PeaZip.
  • Launch the tool through its .exe
  • For the file to unpack, select \PlanetAlpha\Binaries\Win64\PlanetAlpha-Win64-Shipping.exe found in the main game folder.
  • Click on Unpack File.
  • If succeeded, remove or back up the original game exe, then rename the .unpacked file to PlanetAlpha-Win64-Shipping.exe
  • Done! The game executable is ready for modification.
Enable true support of your resolution
  • Click on Download this file on the PCGW community page for the patchers[community.pcgamingwiki.com].
  • Unpack the archive and launch the tool intended for your resolution.
  • Target \PlanetAlpha\Binaries\Win64\PlanetAlpha-Win64-Shipping.exe
  • Click on Start.
  • The game is fully patched to support the desired aspect ratio!
Having issues?
Make sure your system is set to display all file name extensions[webhowto.org]. You may have ended up renaming the exe to exe.exe.

Numerical errors at launch mean you have not unpacked the executable as instructed in the first steps of this guide.

That would suggest you're not using the unpacked file.

No. It has no effect on Steamworks.

Does using steamless mean that you won't get achievements?

Brilliant. Thanks Rose. Took about 10 minutes and worked flawlessly, though the extra resolution does highlight some of the optimisation issues in the game.
