UPDATE: I'm told that if you run a train with both passenger and freight wagons you can create lines that stop at both types of station. :)

Hi, I haven't actually tested that but as far as I have been able to work out routes can only connect passenger stations or cargo stations I don't think it will. I may have a go at trying ... just to be sure. :)

can you now have 1 train do both cargo and people?
