He's soon to be a movie bad guy, but we mustn't forget the dark elf lord's original appearance in the Surtur Saga, in which he was after the Casket of Ancient Winters in order to prepare for the return of Surtur, king of the fire giants and lord of Muspelheim.

He is, played by Christopher Eccleston (the 9th Doctor). Darker costume, though, leaves out the red. Probably a wise choice, I think it looks better than this costume would've done on screen.
