A new, better solution by @witchyglitch is now available. No more crashing, no more restarting the game and replacing files when you want to play the other map.

Hoboken Alleys map in the Dead Man Walking (solo/co-op) mode has not been working for years now. When you try to start it, the game crashes to desktop. I have talked to Rockstar Support numerous times about this issue, but it looks like they don't care about this game anymore (I would love to be proven wrong in the future with an official fix).

Luckily there is a workaround! Just replace two files in the game's folder with modified ones, then start the game and launch Dead Men Walking in the Tietê River Docks map. The modified files will instruct the game to load Hoboken Alleys map instead of Tietê River Docks.

When you want to play in the Tietê River Docks again, just put the original files back.
(These file swaps don't affect Story Mode or other multiplayer modes, just Dead Men Walking)

Old guide:

1. Back up DLC6Pack.rpf and DLC6CompatPack.rpf located in
   
   \steamapps\common\Max Payne 3\Max Payne 3\
   
   
2. Download edited files:
   Mirror 1[community.pcgamingwiki.com]
   Mirror 2[ul.to]
   Mirror 3[rapidgator.net]
   
   
3. Copy the downloaded files to
   \steamapps\common\Max Payne 3\Max Payne 3\
   and replace the original files.
   
   
4. Start the game, select Multiplayer, Private Match.
   In match settings set Mode to Co-operative, set Location to Tietê River Docks and choose a difficulty.
   Then hit Enter and select Launch game.
   
   
5. The game will start in Hoboken Alleys map.

If you want to play Dead Men Walking (co-op/single player) in Tietê River Docks map again, copy the original files back (or verify integrity of game files).
