how to
first open steam in big picture mode
then under this game click manage game
select controller settings
(i just published my remap just look under community and it will be there select it and you will be good to go here - steam://controllerconfig/746580/1783788011 )
then you can remap the controller to keyboard and mouse and the game will let you move and shoot as well as aim with the right stick but at the moment the spring mouse option does not work so you will need to max the virtual mouse sensitivity, also when you remap move the shoot button to the back bumpers and jump to left stick in (protip)
with this guide you literally move three times faster than with normal mapping for controller
Edit after using for a while i found u need to disable anolog input for right trigger otherwise the game wont let you change aim while boosting, with this we shall finally be able to put down the rabid zeon dogs

I actually map the right analog stick to buttons so I can play the few twin stick shooters that interest me on a stick. It's just fun! Good insight though.

I'm sad for the opposite reason. My only real disappointment with the game is that it requires the right analog and d pad for functions that could have been implemented into the controls in some other manor. It sucks you can't play on an arcade stick just because of the usage of items. I played through Gunhound EX and Assault Suit Leynos on stick and it was a blast. Anyways I digress, I still love this game. It is a blast.
