In 1996, Southern Pacific merged with Union Pacific and Donner Pass is today a vital UP line, but nonetheless in this scenario SP traditions remain alive and well as UP's Southern Pacific heritage fleet SD70ACe 1996 leads a train of California produce on the climb of Donner's demanding west slope. As this scenario begins, you are ready to depart Colfax at noon. Amtrak's eastbound California Zephyr is running only 20 minutes behind you and the dispatcher will want you to make reasonable time on the 2.4 percent grades ahead. Duration : 75 mins Difficulty : Medium
