5 things you should consider getting in GTAO
由 ShelLuser 制作
GTAO is a massive game and there's tons of stuff available for you to buy, all of which cost money and often a good sum of it too. So here are 5 things where you can't go wrong...

Editorial (intro)
Hi gang!

The good times are over, the double money & RP on cargo missions has ended (or will soon end) and hopefully you guys also got some fun (and cash!) from it as well. Which then leaves the problem: what should you buy, if any?

Now, we all play the game differently and so we all have our different preferences. Still, there are some items which I think everyone should consider getting. Either because they're extremely useful or simply fun to have.

Please note that I'm pretty sure that more veteran players will probably already know (or own?) most of these items. But then again, my guides are meant for everyone. I'm in a writing mood, had a fun GTAO session, so I figured... why not write this down?

In no particular order mind you, I'm just adding numbers to keep score :-)
#1 - An armored car

Sometimes things can go way out of hand, especially during missions and most definitely if you're alone, a lower leveled player or both ;) The solution? Get an armored car!

In the picture above you can see my recently overhauled Duke 'o' Death which is freely available for returning players. The other armored car is probably better known: the armored Kuruma, which you can buy at a discount if you completed the first heist (the Fleeca job).

The Duke is a two sitter whereas the Kuruma can hold up to 4 players. But both of them can help you make it out alive through missions.

Just keep in mind that even though you're armored, you're not invulnerable!
#2 - The Up 'n' Atomizer

Has this ever happened to you? Of course the above is staged, but even so I've also had my share of a garbage truck getting stuck during an MC business delivery mission simply because I took a wrong turn and ended up on top of some weird obstacles. Fortunately I always managed to get myself unstuck, but I know of players who have been less fortunate.

The solution? The up-n-atomizer raygun:

Many youtubers have demonstrated this gun as the ultimate trolling weapon and I guess they have a point there. But even so, this thing is invaluable for getting a car unstuck while you're out on your own. The best part is that it doesn't do too much damage to the car, so you don't have to worry about destroying it (unless you sent it flying into the ocean of course!).

I still need to test this against annoying cargo stealing NPC's ;)
#3 - A Buzzard attack helicopter
The things I've done with this thing....

Sure: ever since I got myself a Terrorbyte with matching Oppressor Mk II I don't use the Buzzard that often anymore but it still holds a very prominent place in my collection of vehicles.

This thing is the swiss army knife within the context of attack vehicles and I still sporadically use it to help me complete missions.

It's very manoeuvrable (see screenshot above: I landed on top of a moving car (didn't stay there for long though!)), unlike the Oppressor it has an infinite amount of missles (though there is a short cooldown and you can only have 2 out at once) and most of all it's quite affordable!

Every once in a while it still happens that my Oppressor runs out of ammo during a Head hunter mission. The solution? Easy: spawning a Buzzard of course. Using the CEO menu you can get one instantaneously, and best of all: it doesn't cost you 200 GTA$ but is completely free!

There is one catch though: disband your organization (so stop being a CEO) and you'll also lose access to your CEO vehicle. Don't do this while you're flying low above the ground ;)

Heck, if you own a hangar you can even start your own Buzzard army:

From front to back:
  • The Buzzard which I stored & customized in my hanger (so it became a personal vehicle).
  • A Buzzard which I got through Pegasus (so this one did cost me 200 GTA$ to order).
  • And finally the "CEO Buzzard" which I got through the CEO interaction menu.
So: buy one Buzzard and get 2 extra for free ;)

A bit more seriously: if you have friends which don't own a Buzzard yet and you want to do some kind of freeroam job then this might be a good thing to set up: get everyone their own Buzzard (assuming that your friends can fly them of course!).
#4 - A good bike

When I first started playing GTAO on the PS3 I got a bike because it was cheap, but never really liked driving it so I eventually got myself a Weeny Issi (and a lot more cars after that). But eventually I really learned to appreciate bikes, and I think you should too.

A bike can often zip through traffic a lot faster than a car. And if you're out in the Senora desert or other regions with more rough terrain then you got yourself one heck of an advantage because bikes will have little problems with scaling mountains and other steep regions.

Sure, if you're somewhat new then this may not be too appealing for you, I get it. But once you got yourself an MC clubhouse then the bike can become an invaluable means of transport. Especially because you can instantaneously spawn one right next to you, and for free!

Which is why I can definitely recommend to get a good bike and become more familiar with driving one while you can.

Now, I don't keep track of stats and all that so I can't (and won't) recommend a particular brand because there are tons of really good bikes available. I will say that my personal favorite can be seen above: the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ Hakuchou.
#5 - The golden gun (revolver)

Not only can you get this gun fully for free (so you don't have to pay Amnmnation to apply a custom Yusif Amir paint job) but you can actually earn some money with getting one too!

All you have to do is complete a treasure hunt; you'll get an e-mail with a picture where you need to search for clues. Find all three clues and you'll be directed to a treasure chest where you'll find a case which contains this baby.

If you manage to get 50 headshots you'll earn 250,000 GTA$.

Now, the reason why I recommend getting this gun is because it's fun to have. It makes a really cool and loud shooting noise, the gun itself looks pretty awesome I think and when you tell your character to store away the gun they'll make a spinning gesture with it as if they'd place it back in a holster of some sort.

Sure, it's nothing too special but still fun to have...
And some special mentions...
A cargobob

If you're doing vehicle import/export missions while on your own then you should definitely consider to buy a cargobob. This won't be easy! Flying one of these things takes getting used to, and hooking up a car can also be a challenge in itself.

Heck: during my first car heist I even managed to damage the car by somewhat landing on top of it instead of actually hooking it up, "oops" ;) But practice makes perfect, and earlier today I managed to deliver two cars well within 10 minutes and without any damage. 80k in the bank! (you get 100k, but have to pay 20k up front).

The reason this is a special mention should be obvious: a cargobob can be expensive and as I said it'll take time and effort to learn how to fly it. If you're already good with getting out of the car and fighting off the attacking NPC's then all the more power to you of course!

But this thing can make it a lot easier (and quicker!).

The Terrorbyte

What can I say... it costs a fortune, it's definitely not very useful if you don't already own some businesses such as a crate and/or vehicle warehouse and several MC businesses (because of the nightclub). And it's probably also not for everyone, I know players who actually prefer going back to the office to take care of things there.

Each to their own of course.

But in my opinion the Terrorbyte (and the Oppressor Mk II) are serious grinding tools. They can save you time because instead of going back to the office you can start sourcing cars and crates from here and also steal supplies for your businesses. And it has some interesting custom missions as well (depending on the expansions you buy); missions which can earn you a quick buck too (from 28 to 31 thousand).

If you want to learn more about the Terrorbyte then maybe you'd like to read my review here (thanks for the suggestion @Blanket!).

The Phantom Wedge

This thing always makes me grin ;)

During one of the bunker sale missions you get a rig and a Phantom Wedge attached in front while you're told to "pay as little attention to the LSPD numbskulls as possible". Well, now you can have some fun outside the mission as well.

Sure, this thing has limited uses. I only got it to have some fun on the road, or to play with my MOC. However... if you're a CEO then buying this vehicle will also unlock the "Plowed" CEO mission, and that is really easy & fun money to make!

Basically you need to enter a provided Phantom Wedge within a few minutes and then drive to three specific locations on the map where you'll need to destroy 3 piles of cargo by plowing right through them. Don't worry: not player cargo but NPC stuff.

However... there's one small catch ;)

As soon as you finished the mission the self destruct timer will start and you have an X amount of time to get out of the car before it goes kab00m! A really silly ending to a really silly mission if you ask me. Silly but very fitting.

And lucrative too: 5 minutes of plowing through traffic and baddies earns you an easy 28k.

And there you have it....

Thanks for reading!

@Jay: good call! I completely forgot about that, but that's it. I also once spawned it like that. @iRay: if you buy the Buzzard using the Warstock site then it'll be ok. That's also the advantage of actually owning one. Doh, stupid me. Should have remembered this one.

Actually the buzzard costs 25k each spawn if you don't own it already. Same applies for the different VIP vehicles.

maybe you are lucky enought:/

@iRay: then you probably destroyed another vehicle, not the CEO vehicle. As I said: just check the context menu, it'll say "FREE" every time you spawn it, no matter if you destroyed the chopper or not. I've had my share or crashes too in the beginning, never paid a dime.

I did destroy it. and now I need to pay 25k. as a CEO.
ShelLuser  [作者] 2019 年 5 月 5 日 上午 3:36
@iRay: No, spawning a Buzzard as CEO is always free. Just check the context menu, it says so right there: "FREE". No matter how many times you spawn it in.
