After blowing up the convoy, I headed to the Agia Marina base to kill those pesky 3 APCs. There were no actual APCs though, only an IFV and 3 MRAPs. But oh well, I guess the creator was ignorant, I thought.
After lots of careful planning, sneaking on the dirt, and circumventing the entire base from behind, I finally decided to blow up the wall right side of the base with one of my explosive charges, dispatching an entire squad that was patrolling there beforehand. I went in, killed the soldiers in the Hunter at the entrance (by repeatedly shelling it with with the grenade launcher I took from one of my victims), and then used its turret to destroy the other three vehicles' turrets, before blowing them up.
After many rambo moments and plenty of reloads, I managed to kill virtually every living soul in that base, thinking "damn, this mission is really one of a kind".
It was only then that I realized there were no APCs because the bloody APCs were supposed to be in the other outpost.
So I reloaded back to an earlier save, and using the aforementioned turret, I carefully killed the passenger and the gunner of the other Hunter that was standing there, and then I just stole it instead of destroying it. I could not use the former Hunter because well, those GL rounds took out the wheels.
All the efforts that took to vanquish that base definitely paid off, though - now that I was in control of the MRAP, clearing out the patrols that were guarding my actual objective turned out to be a piece of cake.
After all that, I calmly placed my explosive charges around the APCs, hopped on the Hunter again, and disappeared into the hills, heading back to safe house. And of course, in true Rambo fashion - I didn't even look at the explosions.
TL;DR: 10/10 would confuse the objective again
Thanks!
Do the APCs need to be destroyed, or just heavely damaged? 1 satchel charge only seems to take out the wheels and I didn't have enough to make every APC explode.
You probably know this already, but Greif is the German word for "seize" and was famously painted onto the side of Romel's command halftrack during the North Africa campaign (see, e.g., here: http://www.afvnews.org/images/greif.jpg) . Since the halftrack was the precursor to the modern day APC, it seemed like an apt name for this mission.
