Sprite is now drawn larger on the ground to prevent shrinkage of the gun due to the added bayonet.

Enables you to make the bolt-action rifle with a bayonet

Very simple, light-weight mod that combines shooting and stabbing, making a weapon that gives you the best of both worlds. It is deadly at range! It is deadly in close combat! So until Rimworld introduce backup weapons for closes combat, this is my solution!

FIX BAYONETS!

In terms of melee damage it will do slightly less than a steel spear of similar quality which I found fitting. (But way more than using the vanilla rifle in melee alone)

Can safely be added to save files. If you want to remove it, make sure you delete any work orders for this item on the machining table first.

Let me know if you run in to any trouble!

(I have no experience with CE so it's probably not compatible)

Cheers Wolfen! Yeah I made this to have an easier time combining melee and ranged on saves "close to vanilla". I love the simple sidearms mod, but it's quite a bit more upkeep. So it's nice to have the option to not having to deal with combat pawn groups.

@Gotcha! Probably not going to tinker with that as it would be such a huge undertaking and beyond my skill level at this point. It's a cool idea, but it is not this mod. :)

If I could make a suggestion. I don't know if this is possible, but it would be really cool if instead of the bolt action rifle having a bayonet, you could make an apparel/gear item that would increase melee damage. That way it could work not with just all the other vanilla guns, but with modded ones too.

Actually, now that I'm thinking about it more, there probably would need to be some sort of check to see if the pawn has a melee weapon equipped, so that you couldn't just cheese it with extra damage for nothing. A spear with a bayonet seems kind of redundant...
