Light Mk.VII Tetrarch Mk.I (A17)

The third British light tank, the Tetrarch was a significant upgrade from the Mk.VI, featuring a 40mm cannon instead of the machine guns of previous models. Despite these improvements, the tank saw limited use due to the British forces limiting their use of light tanks as well as the limited crew making commanding such a tank difficult. 20 vehicles were lend leased to the Soviet Union while the british vehicles would go on to see combat in Madagascar, Sicily and Normandy, where their outdated armament left them outgunned against german vehicles. They were replaced in service by Cromwell tanks and Ameircan M22 tanks and retired from service after the war.
