This guide will teach you on how to limit Sonic Generations to 30 fps without using any external applications (except the Nvidia control panel)

Step 1. The Nvidia Control Panel
on the bottom right of your screen, there should be the Nvidia icon. Right click that and click Nvidia Control Panel
Step 2: Adding Sonic Generations to the Nvidia Settings
When on the Nvidia Control Panel, you should click on the "manage 3d settings" prompt










Now click on program settings and add Sonic generations by clicking "add"






the program will crash for a little bit because it's searching for applications but when you find Sonic Generations click "add selected program"
Step 3 Limiting the Fps to 30
Once Sonic Generations is added, scroll down to the bottom of the settings and you'll find Vsync options. Set it to "Adaptive(Half Refresh Rate)"





ATTENTION. the will now run at half of your refresh rate so make sure you are running the game at 60 hz

@Priception you do know that Sonic Generations's performance is based on how good your graphics card is right?

The computer I had had a top end CPU 8gb of ram etc but that framerate wasn't budging untill I got a new GPU, then it ran fine.

Windows 10 itself can run on low end GPUs. Sonic Generations cannot

@Dr. Lunar Even then there is a "Low End" mod to boost the games performance, and if someone can't run that at 60fps, I'm surprised their PC can even run Windows 10.

@Priception My computer can run the game at 60fps fine now but at the time I made this article, my computer couldn't. Also some people can't upgrade Lol

@Dr. Lunar Yeah but you have to have a really old and really shit computer if it can't run Sonic Generations at 60fps and you really should be looking for an upgrade at that point.

@Priception this is for people who don't have computers that are fast enough to run the game at 60fps.
If the game can't run at 60fps it'd be a better option for those people to limit the game to 30fps to get a smoother experience instead of the game slowing down then speeding up constantly
