0ctoling - Playable Character

This mod adds an Octoling from Splatoon 2 as a playable character, the Octoling creates trails of creep when attacking and can dive into the creep to hide and avoid damage, press the SWAP button to dive.
(SHIFT will also work on keyboard)

However explosions (aside from fetus shots), enemy lasers, enemy creep and enemy tears/projectiles will erase the creep and if the creep the Octoling is hiding in is erased the Octoling is forced out and can take damage.
The creep deals a small amount of damage to enemies on contact based on your damage stat.

The Octoling's damage is a bit lower and can't attack while swimming in creep, but you can charge attacks while swimming and you can utilize tear effects and familiars, as your familiars can still attack while you're in the creep and tear effects you have can be applied to enemies that stand in the creep.
(freeze effect just slows enemies down instead of totally freezing them because that would be a bit overpowered due to how long the creep lasts but other effects do still work as you'd expect e.g. having dark matter makes the creep apply the fear effect)

The Octoling moves more quickly while swimming in the creep and there are plenty of tricks you can do, like being able to enter curse rooms for free by making a creep path to the door, swimming underneath spikes, or being able to swim under rocks if you have spectral tears.

After generating a lot of creep the Octoling will gradually start to run out of ink and the tear rate will become slowed, this can be reset by diving into some creep to refill your ink reserves.



You can even change the Octolings color by using the Mod Config Menu or by opening the console (by pressing ~) and entering the command "changeoctolingcolor COLOR" or "changeplayer2octolingcolor COLOR" / "changeplayer3octolingcolor COLOR" / "changeplayer4octolingcolor COLOR", there's 8 colors to choose from, with 4 different hair styles:
Pink and Red (Pony)
Orange and Yellow (Tentacurl)
Green and Cyan (Punk)
Blue and Purple (Afro)

Should work with True Co-op although if multiple players are Octolings they will all be able to swim in any ink regardless of color, if you don't like that you can make them all the same color.

Collecting the Birthright item grants Octoling a stat boost and they gain a random Splatoon Weapon as a pocket active item. (assuming you have the Splatoon Weapons mod enabled or are running potato pack 3)
