LEF-001 "Endeavour" [LSM]

This is the Endeavour, a long range exploration vessel.
It is constructed as a ship for exploration and science missions in multiple and possibly dangerous enviroments (Non combat).
It is Flexible and has good endurance and redundancy.
Thanks to the relatively high amound of thrusters you can get easiely off or onto planets, moons or asteriods.

Since this is a exploration and science ship, it has to perform well under different condicions.
For that it has a lot of well placed engines and Hydrogen thrusters for extra maneuvrability. Below you can see how it performs in different enviroments:


Like any other spaceship, space is its natural enviroment. You can rely on ion thrusters here.

Because the ion thrusters are only working below 0.3 G, the ship is getting here to it‘s limits with only ion engines. This is fine when you are carefully cruising around, but for the descend onto the planet you might need the hydrogen thrusters to stop your fall.

Here get the atmospheric thrusters useful. Ion engines are nearly useless here, so switch to the atmospheric engines. This can be a little bit tricky, due to the fact that they are only pointing downwards. It is like flying a helicopter, a 1182.436 Ton heavy helicopter.
Descending is easy. Just turn on the atmospheric thrusters and drift torwards the planet. They are incredibly powerful so for landing your won‘t need your hydrogen engines.
Ascending on Europa and Titan is similar, fly up until the engines disengage and switch to ion thrusters.
On Earth and Alien you have to kick in the hydrogen thrusters in order to defeat gravity.
