Well here is the thing, Bandinamco helped develop smash.
They also made all a hand full of the DBZ fighting games.
ALSO Goku and Lucario have the same voice actor.
And a minor point, Persona had an anime.

Kirby is doing most of the work, Link and Mario are helping with the leverage.
