Introduction (skippable)
Here's why I created this guide. You can skip this if you don't care.

I wanted to play an arcade shooter and feel like god. NeuroVoider was brought to my attention and it seemed to be exactly what I wanted. After reading a few reviews, some complained the game was too simple or repetitive, others praised it for good gameplay. Anyway, I expected a game I could breeze through based on the reviews and I wanted an easy win, so this seemed to be the right game for me at the time.

After I played the game for the first time, and getting familiar with it, I started to play through levels. I barely survived, but with enough scrape, I managed to get to the first boss with at least half my health. Of course, I did not stood a chance on that boss, and I died.

But that was okay. It was the first run. I found it a bit sad that death meant game over, but on the other hand, it had its charm. I played again, this time much better prepared on what was to come, and got to the boss with full health. But I died again.

I tried a different class and that seemed to be worse. The 3rd class did not help me much either. So back to the first class, back to what I was used to. I played a good game and got to that first boss, and... I died again. By now I had played about 10 games and I just had no clue how to even defeat the boss.

The game was put aside and I continued to do other things not touching the game for quite a while.

But I came back to the game eventually. I thought, there must be a guide to help me beat the game, right? Well, there isn't one.

My strategy so far was, use a rail gun as secondary fire to snipe enemies from afar, and use a weapon with some spread for close range. This combination helped me to get to the boss well, but the boss needed lots of power.

I decided instead of using what I knew, to experiment. So from the first level, I chose levels with lots of elites trying to get good weapons early on and simply try them out. The results of this testing is what made me decide to make this guide.
Starting a new game
The game features 3 game modes.

Arcade mode
- For the beginner

Rogue mode
- For those who know the game and want more of a challenge

Voider
- For those who need to push themselves further and want a real challenge.

This guide will only feature Arcade mode. It may be possible this strategy is so good it works on the other modes too, but I simply have not tested it yet. Edit: I'm actually about to finish Rogue mode using this strategy and it works really good. It is harder, so doing it once on Arcade will allow you to learn enough to do it on Rogue and possibly Voider too.

If you already have a game running, the moment you choose New Game, select a mode and then break out of the glass, you commit to the new game, and you can no longer go back to any previous game.

Once you start with Arcade mode, you are asked to choose your class. For this strategy guide we'll be using Dash.

You will also be able to select your ability. Some abilities are passive, others are active. The difference with a passive vs active ability is, that a passive ability is always on, whereas an active ability is off until you use it, and then you need to replenish crystals before you can use it again. Different abilities have different recharge amounts. Health requires 100 crystals, which is the highest, and therefor almost unusable. If you follow this guide, you probably won't need the health ability, but it's up to you.

Before you begin the game, head to the settings and make sure you know what keys or controls to use. In Dash, your special ability is... yes, dash. Dash consumes a little bit of energy but allows you to quickly move in any direction being invulnerable during the move. You will need this in order to flee the tougher enemies, and dodge tougher bullets. If done correctly, you can get through any level without even being hit.
The first level
Once you are about to play, you get to the first level.

Each time you enter a level, you get to choose between 3 levels. The levels are randomly generated, and their stats are shown near each level. Especially at the beginning of the game, it is important to get proper weapons. My advise is, choose a level that is largest, then select the one with most elites.

Elites will shoot better, but in the beginning of the game every enemy is still very easy to kill and you can take elites at the first round easily.

If you have 2 levels that look the following:

Size: 4, Elites: 5
Size: 5, Elites: 1

If you see the above, then take the Size 4 instead. You will want the amount of elites.

During the level, you have a normal gun that can shoot surprisingly far and a melee weapon.

During this level, the melee weapon is not interesting yet. Your enemies will all be slow so you can use your primary weapon to kill them all.

The best way to deal with enemies is to first see if you can shoot them from the furthest distance, then move closer, and the moment they come towards you, shoot them while moving back.

As you will be moving a lot, look carefully where you can and cannot move. In some levels, objects will block you that will not easily be recognized as objects.

So engage the enemy, walk away while shooting them, kill them all, then move forward again.

As you shoot, your energy meter depletes. As you stop shooting your energy meter fills again. Well, actually it still fills as you are shooting, but it depletes faster. Once the energy meter is fully depleted, it is overheated and you have to wait for it to be full again before you can fire again. Keep this in mind. It is better to flee with half a bar full and shoot once you have your energy bar full again, than to try and finish off that enemy, risking overheating.

Especially in the first level, enemies will shoot at you. You can simply shoot back and if a bullet is about to hit you, dash away. Do note, if you have been shooting your gun empty, you do not have enough energy to dash. So stop firing when your energy bar is at half, so you have enough reserve for a dash or two.

Once you understand how to combat the enemy effectively, you can start scouting the area. There are one or more reactors in the map that you need to find. Once you find them, you shoot at them until they blow up.

As you move through the map, look at anything and try shooting anything. Some stuff blows up, and sometimes it leaves a collectible. These collectibles can be used to upgrade your ship in between levels.

Once you destroy all reactors in the map, you can teleport out of the map. If you have plenty of health left, I suggest to scout the map for more units and elites to maximize the collectibles you can find. Also note, that if you have chosen an active ability, enemies will leave crystals behind if you kill them. They fill your special meter. Once your special ability is full, use it so you can continue to collect your crystals.
Upgrading your unit.
Click the Equip button to upgrade your unit.

You get a menu of 5 options (parts)
- Vision
- Core
- Transport
- Gun.L
- Gun.R

Because the gun is the most important item for the run, I'm going to start with the guns first.

Open Gun.L to get a list of all the guns you have.

Head to the test tab and scroll the guns from left to right to find good guns.

Use A and D or Left and Right to navigate the weapons.

For Gun.L, I recommend a weapon that does lots of damage in one blast with a big splash.
If you have a Mini Nuke, this is the weapon you want. If not, see if you have a better Auto Gun. The Auto gun is a good weapon until you get further in the game. Below will be a list of weapons that you will and will not want to use.

If you are not sure about your guns, keep them for now. If you are sure there are guns in the list you do not want, Scrap them. This is important. The more scrap you have, the better you can upgrade your weapons, and other parts.

Refer to the list below with items you definitely do not want.

After you narrowed down your weapons, to ones you can use, compare them and take the one that deals the most damange. Sometimes you get multiple guns with different names. If this is the game, they have different stats. Compare and keep the best.

Once you have your weapons selected and scrapped the ones you don't need, continue to the transport part.

The Vision, Core and Transport parts work the same.

So repeat the following steps for each part.

the first thing you will do is press Scrap, followed by Other Classes.

This removes all parts that are not suitable for Dash. Because this strategy guide will not switch to a different class mid-way, we turn the other parts into scrap, so we can upgrade our parts quicker.

Once you have more than one of the same type, for example after scrapping Transport parts, you have 3 instead of 17, it is time to compare the transport parts.

Go to the compare tab and press A enough times to reach the very first part. If the Equip is greyed out, then this is the item you are currently equipping. Every item is compared to the item you have marked as equipped.

Go from left to right, and if you find an item that is better than your current one, equip it, so the next item is compared to the best one you found so far.

Once you have seen all items and the best part is equipped, press Scrap, and scrap all items. This will scrap all items but the equipped one. If you are in doubt and want to keep an item, scrap all others manually.

Do the same for the other parts.

At some point, it will happen that stats will be conflicting. The better stats become, there will be a moment where Part A has a good HP stat, whereas part B will have a good Speed stat.

Below is a list per stat what you want to have the highest possible.

Stats for Vision
The Energy EP stat is the most important. The skill stat will only matter if you have an active skill. If you have a passive skill, it will show ??? even though it may have stats. In that case, ignore those. If you have to choose, then it really depends on the stat you chosen which one is best, but make sure the Energy EP is still the highest.

Stats for Core
The stats for Core is tricky. The EP/Regen stats are for your weapon. A higher EP stat means that you can fire and hold your weapon longer before it runs out, but the regen stat means the bar fills quicker. Given that you want to shoot in bursts anyway, it is more important that your regen is high than that your ep is low. You do not want a high ep with a low regen. If you upgrade to a new core with far better regen, but the EP goes down a bit, then that is a good deal.

The same applies to HP/Special.

HP obviously means how much HP you have, EP cost means how much EP it costs to dash. Given that dash is a survival skill, you do not want to trade in a medium HP and medium ep costs for a core with high hp but np ep cost. EP cost is almost more valuable than HP, but given that no HP is the same as Game Over, HP is still more important.

When it comes to finding the best part, you will find out that these 4 stats go all over the place. I find that an attack is the best offense, so focus on EP first, then HP. But do make sure you do not neglect HP. A core with amazing EP but low HP should be left behind. If HP goes down a little compared to your previous core, but EP shoots up, then pick it.

Stats for Transport
Your HP stat is the most important one. Speed and overheat are great to have, but HP is far more important for a transport part. If you can get a big HP boost but loose speed and/or overheat, consider the part. That said, speed is your movement speed. The higher that is, the less you need to rely on Dash. Keep in mind, that dash still makes you invulnerable for a short while, where as just running doesn't. Overheat is the time it takes when you run out EP and your gun is overheated. If this stat is high, you can quickly fire again, even if your EP meter is not fully charged. Given that this strat says it is bad to go overheating anyway, it is nice if you have good overheating stats, but not something you need more of than HP.
Which weapons are good and which are bad?
The game has some really good weapons, but also some useless weapons for this strategy.

The best weapons
If you get these weapons, look no further.
- Mini nuke: This weapon will make defeating the boss easy and helps killing almost all enemies. You are not damaged by the nuke itself, only by explosions caused by the nuke. If the nuke kills an object on the map, that object explodes, and you are in its range, then it damages you. If you stand next to a wall and you fire the nuke, you get a big splash damage area around you, but you remain unharmed. The weapon is slow though, practice and learn how it behaves. Fire regularly. Because you unlimited ammo, don't be afraid to walk 5 pixels, and fire it again and complete the level that way.
- Railgun: This is a really powerful weapon. It is the game's sniper. Its range is respectable. You can kill targets that are off-screen up to a certain distance, which allows you to kill enemies when you are not fighting them yet. Just stand still aim in any direction you expect enemies to be, fire once, then move your mouse one pixel and fire again. sweep the entire screen this way, and you get lots of kills. If you become good with this weapon, you can even use it to kill enemies that are too fast for the nuke, but that requires skill. It will be easier if you get a turbo rail gun. If you find a turbo railgun, pick that one over a normal railgun, even if the normal railgun does more damage.
- Disk gun: It has a long range, and the disks bounce around the arena. It is not as far as the rail gun, but you can shoot multiple bullets quickly after eachother. Combine this with the Mini Nuke and you have a good combo.
- Gattling Gun: Has good range, fires quick and has a bit of spread. Good for defense and offense. A pray and spray weapon.
- The atomic fist: Melee weapon with decent range and lots of damange due to the explosions. This will ensure you get to kill enemies closeby while nuking enemies afar. Just get enough EP to fire both.

The good weapons
- Auto gun: This is the standard weapon. Has a good range and deals enough damage to be useful.
- Plasma gun: This weapon is similar to the auto gun, its bullets fires slower, but deals more damage, and is manually triggered. No hold, spray and pray.
- Twin Plasma: Similar to the plasma gun, except fires in a small spread which makes this weapon easier to use.
- Machine gun: This is like a fast Auto gun.
- Cutter: The cutter and other melee weapons is good to start, can be used in conjunction with the mini nuke, Just make sure you keep upgrading the cutter to one that has more splash, because that is the attack range
- Plasma bomb: Shoots a bullet then spreads big. If you don't have the nuke yet, this is a good alternative.

Questionable weapons
- Bio Catapult: This is not a bad weapon perse, but it is a short-range weapon that doesn't handle the best. It may be your weapon of choice as melee, but the fire rate is not the fastest, making it a bit harder to use.
- Grenade Launcher: This one is similar to the Bio Catapult. It has more range, but it is easier to miss. It may be a good weapon, but then it is on the bottom of the good weapons list.
- Missle launcher: This one comes in many shapes. It is not a bad weapon and if you really have nothing better, it is a good alternative, but it is a bit unprecise. Some rockets will fly to enemies, but you have no control over which enemies it flies to.
- Fat Shotgun: Short-range weapon that does some nice damage. May be usable instead of a melee weapon.

The bad weapons
- Shocker: The shocker is a short-range single beam weapon. If you are really skilled, this weapon may work for you, but for beginners, it definitely won't.
- Burner: The burner is short-range, and has a spread that is uncontrollable. It is a bit of a hit-and-miss style of weapon. If it hits, it will set enemies on fire which does damage over time, but that doesn't help much if your enemies are fast ones.
- Flame thrower: This weapon is short-range and does little damage. You will set enemies on fire, but they don't die instantly.
- Tri Phaser: This weapon is mid range and has a lot of spread. It is easy to miss an enemy and the bullets don't do a lot of damage.
- The scorcher: This flamethrower shoots in all directions. It runs out of EP quickly and all it does is set your enemies on fire. They don't die instantly, and its range is not that wide.
- All beam weapons: These weapons are basically like the shocker. Their range is too short to be useful, even if they are pretty powerful. The fact that you need to keep hitting the enemy for a duration makes this weapon hard to use too. But if you hit this target, you can kill many enemies.
- Manic Phaser: Basically all phaser based weapons are not too good. It is mid-range which is useful, but compared to what other options you have, especially in the Dash class, this is a bad weapon.
- Shotgun: Short-range weapon that does some nice damage.
- Heat Wave: This is not too bad, but the fire rate makes it a lot harder to use.
Boosting
Once you have the parts you want to use, you can see how much scrap you have.

Do note, after each level, you always get 25% health back for free. If you want to heal more (repair), this costs 777 scrap. Consider to repair before upgrading your parts. You can repair yourself by pressing back, then repair. You get back to the upgrade screen by pressing equip.

With the remaining scrap, you can upgrade yourself. You can give yourself more health, or you can make your weapons do more damage.

If you have a weapon on you that you are sure is going to be one of your final weapons, upgrade that to the max first.

Don't forget, if you upgrade a part and then scrap it, you get more scrap back. It is not the same value, but it is still a good percentage. It is not a bad thing to go from one fully upgraded weapon to another fully upgraded weapon if that means you have to scrap the first one in order to get enough scrap for the other upgrades.

In the first levels, it is probably going to be a good thing to focus on your primary gun more than your health, especially since you will find better cores early on that will be so much better than your current core, even if boosted.

Once you boost any part, a yellow bar is shown. Anything that is boosted from the default stat is added by that yellow bar. When comparing parts, do not look at the yellow bar, but compare that part to the base part without the upgrade. If that is better, then boost the part to see if you have enough scrap to get close or over the part you currently have. Do note that not all parts boost the same way.

If you can't boost a part high enough, but it seems promising, if you don't dare to scrap your old part, just keep it in your inventory for another round, boost it the next round and compare then.
Special levels
Every once in a while, you will get a special level.

Special levels have super elites. Each level has a special feature too. Each feature is mentioned before you choose the level. I have not encountered them all but the only leveltype you really need to be careful for is the self-destruct. If you can't teleport out of the level in time because you haven't destroyed the reactors, you die and it is game over. Before deciding if you want to play this level, if you don't have the powerup that shows you where the reactor is and you don't have the best weapons or the time is not too long, you will not make it. The self destruct level can be really hard. If you spawn badly, you will basically have to go on a kamikaze mission which requires a different playstyle and weaponset, and the enemies are many and powerful. Skip the auto-destruct one until you completed the game at least once.

The other leves do not have a timer, so you just need to survive. Take the special levels when they present themselves (with the exception of the self-destruct one, of course).
Boss levels
This is the hardest part of the game. If you have not managed to get a mininuke by now, good luck.

The mini nuke makes boss fights doable.

You will need plenty of health too, or you must be a pro in dodging bullets.

The strategy for boss levels is simple. Fire nukes into the boss as much as you can. Look for the sign that says weak spot, and hit that, nothing else. A boss can have more than one segment located in the map. It may jump to another segment. If so, you must go there and attack that part instead.

The boss will spawn enemies. Look out for how many enemies there are on screen, and occasionally fire a nuke directly at the enemies so that all enemies die in one hit. These enemies leave behind health points which you can use to refill your health.

Be sure not to miss the enemies when you fire, or alternatively, if you have a secondary weapon that you can easily kill the enemies with, such as melee, machine gun or disc gun, consider using that one. Keep in mind, that you then have to shoot moving units, which is far more time consuming. A nuke or two is still faster.

Do not pay that much attention to your health. Pay attention to how many enemies there are near you, and if there are more than 5, kill them instead and get the health they drop.

Given that the mini nuke is really powerfull, it will not take too many hits to finish off the boss. A big health bar will appear either in the top or bottom of the screen as a popup that shows you how far gone the boss is.

Once the boss is destroyed, all enemies on screen die too and they drop health and goodies.

Unless you are near death, you should be able to restore your health to full. The boss round ends when you teleport out.
The last boss
The last boss fights the same way as the other bosses. Once you kill him, goodies are on the ground that you can pick up.

A second boss appears which is much harder than the first. Use the same strategy you use to kill the other bosses, and you should be able to defeat it too.

This boss also drops goodies.

Once you have beaten that boss, the game starts over, but you retain your stats, and the enemies are stronger on the second round too. At least with Arcade it can go beyond 100%.

As you start a new game with your best setup already, you can now really boost all your stats to max and find the best items and weapons there are. You can even experiment with different weapons or switch classes if you want.

Good luck. I don't have enough experience with the game to answer every question, but this guide should at least allow you to beat the game once.

Just remember, it is important to be ready before you fight the first Boss. You need to have enough EP, HP, and the mini Nuke. If possible, the Mini Nuke should be boosted.

nice guide, i only played 1 round, didnt realize the game had these different systems and complexity

That does not sound like a beginners strategy though. I am much more experienced with the game and have tried bezerk speedstrats too. Once you know how the game works, that too is an option.

nice. keep at it. one strategy you can try is to take the dash character. and take the perk that makes only able to pick up melee weapons. the perk also makes it so that only melee weapons drop. the epic melee weapons have explosion damage that is huge you can kill mobs around corners dash through large groups causing explosions around you. i got to second loop boss with that setup.

anyways here is some inspiration for ya.
