The backwards connector works for me as I usually put some base connectors horizontally so I can park ships and then walk below them. Also I have a remote/camera for backing out of tunnels which can also be used for docking if the connector is facing the same way. (Mainly it's a uniform design feature across my small ships, so I'm used to it, and my bases are designed with it in mind.)
We're also working on moving the connector to the bottom, it makes more sense with a craft where the most thrust power is vertical.
But hey... This will be a totally new ship, not sure if it's useful for you to know ^^
Another thing is the current bug with groups in terminal, this totally sucks, this is why we've paused the game for now, waiting for fixes.
