George H. W. Bush, father of the later president George W. Bush, was Vice President for eight years before winning the presidency of the United States. His time in office was hugely dictated by the war against the Iraq, dubbed the "Gulf War" or "Second Gulf War". He was responsible for solving his predecessor Ronald Reagan's economic crisis, which he struggled to do, diminishing his reputation and likely leading to him not being elected for a second term.

Of further note is also Bush's education reform, resuming many programs of the Higher Education Act of 1965.

According to an own statement, Bush found exterior politics more exciting than interior politics.

George H. W. Bush, born in 1925, was married since 1945. His wife died in April 2018, Bush followed on 30 November 2018.
